To whom it may concern,
Yifei Wang joined GLOBALFOUNDRIES for an internship during the Summer of 2016. He
worked on a project to extract CDSEM dimensional contours, and use those contours in
optical proximity correction modeling. Yifei was somewhat familiar with lithography and
metrology coming in to the project, but as is normal there was quite a lot to learn about the
specifics of the project. He spent a lot of time with GLOBALFOUNDRIES engineers and our
vendor engineers to understand the concepts, software, gain insight into the challenges in
the standard methods, and experiment with various parameters to achieve good results. At
the end of the project, Yifei provided insight into a new method for extracting metrology
contours, and compared his modeling results to those of a traditional model.
The project was a good opportunity for Yifei to demonstrate his ability to learn quickly,
collaborate with a variety of people across different teams, and stay focused on the problem
until achieving an outcome. It was a pleasure to have Yifei for the internship, and I welcome
him back in the future.
