2. In what ways does your media product
use, develop or challenge forms and
conventions of real media products?
The scene of the
pupils feet was
inspired by the
opening
sequence of the
Kidulthood, which
is a Social realism
film similar to
mine.
Here is the opening sequence of Kidulthood which I obtain the
idea from:

3. How does your media Product
represent particular Social
Groups:
In this long shot of Bradley we
get to see what he is wearing
and his whole body position
which is portraying to the
audience the typical
stereotype of a ”loner” and
In this long shot, we can see the “geek”.
2 bullies who represent the
“cool” “hard” kids at school,
who are bunking off lessons and
standing in the doorway trying to
cause trouble to people that
walk past.
4. What Kind of Media institution might
distribute your media product and
why:
Revolver Entertainment are a UK distribution company that distribute
all sorts of films, but in particular distribute a lot British and other
Social realism films nationally and on a global scale, they was the
distribution company behind the award winning Kidulthood and
Adulthood films.
I believe that Revolver Entertainment would be the sort of
distribution company interested in distributing my media product as
it is a social realism film which has been inspired through the
Kidulthood and Adulthood films, as Revolver are a distribution
company interested in social realism films their experience and
knowledge of how to distribute social realism feels make them the
suitable company for distributing my product.
5. Who would be the audience for
your media product and How I
attracted/addressed the audience?
From the research into my target audience (see research and planning)
and the feedback from my target audience (see video in blog
“audience feedback”) I believe that my media product would suit
teenagers more due to them being able to relate to the school life and
also it shows an element of what growing up is like and the traumas a lot
of teenagers go through, which means they are able to relate to the
product in a number of different ways.
Due to the nature and content of my media product I was able to help
the audience relate to events that happen in an every day 21st Century
school which helped attract and encourage the audience to watch my
opening sequence, also I gained a lot of knowledge as to what my
target audience would enjoy from my questionnaires (see research and
planning), this gave me an idea as to how to address the audience.
The harsh
reality of a life
as a child who
is being bullied.
6. What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
construction this product:
I have used a number of different technologies, some of which are new
to me, these include Blogger, which I presented all my coursework on, it
was a new learning curve for me as I have never constructed a blog in
anyway before, but it was very straight forward to use and has all the
necessary things I needed to put together my coursework such as upload
videos from YouTube.
Having to use different types of technology to construct my final product
encouraged me more, to explore and use new types of technology such
as iMovie and Logic express, iMovie I used to edit my final piece, as I’m
new to iMovie I had to use YouTube to listen and watch tutorials on how
to use different techniques such as speeding and slowing up a shot.
7. Looking back at your preliminary
task, what do you feel you have
learnt in the progression from it to
the full product?
My preliminary: My Final product:
I learnt a lot from my preliminary task, such as when filming different shot types, make sure
that the subject is in the properly in the shot and no important parts are missing such as
above, in my Preliminary, the actors chin is missing on this close up but when I created my
Final Product I made sure I had several shots with all the key parts of the subject in when
filming a close up. I also learnt to film as many shots as possible so that I had a variety of shots
to choose from when editing my final product. Another problem I had when filming my
preliminary was the back ground noise, which was so loud you could not hear the
characters speaking, so in my final product I made sure there was less background noise so
you could hear the characters better when filming.
