New York City. She earned a lot of recognition within those groups and would later go on to work with start up
media companies that focused in access of education for underprivileged youth. At age 18 she was chosen to be
part of the founding team of The Youth Channel, a non profit media organization that focused on empowering
young people from ages 5 to 25 and teaching them how to understand and create media that is important and
relevant to them as well as inspire youth to pursue college and other higher learning education programs. Many
of the projects that she headlined involved therapeutic models for personal creative growth for at risk children
as well as advanced media literacy curriculums.
At age 24 she moved on to work with Manhattan Neighborhood Network (MNN) as a Program Coordinator and
Education Specialist. Through her work with MNN she made an impact at delivering educational resources in
community health for the LGBTQ, Hispanic/ Latino, Asian, African American and Elderly communities. Her
work with MNN allowed her to work with such important grassroots groups such as FROST’D, PUMP, POV,
as well as WNET and New York Public Television. In 2002 she was awarded the New York City plaque for
Excellence in Educational Services in media from the New York Board of Education, for her work with special
needs children of the New York City public school system.
After several years working within the education media industry Wendy decided to advance her own education
by enrolling into the prestigious creative arts honors program at the University of Central Florida. While still a
student, Wendy used her skills and experience to work with the University Foundations and co- start an
organization named AD Lab. The organizations mission was to focus on helping current college students
studying various disciplines work together in many real world projects with actual businesses and organizations.
As one of the founding members of the organization, she started the media and training departments that helped
develop new and effective methods in education for students, providing students real world skills that would
become important post college. She was a key participant in initiated the very first online video tutorial
programs for university systems and managed to help raise millions of dollars in donations and funds for the
university and several of its programs. She also worked as a professor’s aide and led several classes herself in
various disciplines including public health, business, communications and public administration. She eventually
graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors.
After finishing her advanced Bachelors degree at UCF, she returned to New York City where she worked with
several journalism based media outlets including CNN online, NPR, WNYC and News Broadcast Network.
While working with these outlets she participated and worked in social media, editing and writing departments.
She still works for some of these outlets as a freelance writer and video editor.
A change in pursuit came when she was chosen to work on a 3D printing project with UCF called e-NABLE.
This program created low costs prostatic limbs for children, the project involved putting together a group of art,
medical and engineering students and allowed them to work together across disciplines to help create for others.
After completing this project Wendy decided to peruse working within the bio tech/ medical world. She began
to work for the New York University School of Medicine as an FGP Associate. Her strongest skills involved
initiating office protocol and policies as well as developing effective patient relation and patient experience
programs for medical centers. Today the NYU office she helped develop is amongst the most profitable offices
in the organization and many of the models created are being used in other offices as well.
During her time with NYU She finished her Master’s Degree in Graphic, Communications, Management and
Technologies at the prestigious Honors program at the School of Professional Studies and Stern where she
earned a dual degree of Master of Arts and Masters of Business Administration. Her studies allowed her to
incorporate not only her creative and media backgrounds but also her educational background, she developed
her skills in management and communications and she specializes in business analytical strategies. Her last year
in the graduate program at NYU was spent by giving back to other students, she was elected student leader by
her peers and she helped initiate a student diversity initiative to assist current and future students of NYU
develop a concise and effective network. Currently, she is awaiting the final nominations for the doctoral
programs in education from NYU Steinhardt and Columbia University.
Wendy Agudo has accomplished many things while in the field and looks to increase her influence in a larger
scale within the medical and education / media community. Currently, she is looking to help build new facilities
in medicine that would involve creative methods, which she has mastered for decades.
