School/district overview:
Dorchester School District Two desires to be recognized as a “World Class” school
district, expecting each student to achieve at his/her optimum level in all areas, and
providing all members of our district family with an environment that permits them
to do their personal best. We consider it a “point of pride” that Joseph R. Pye
Elementary School has received the national designation as a P21 School. This
honor brings us closer to realizing our “World Class” vision for all learners. This
year’s “STEAM for ALL” focus at JPES is aligned with our district’s goal to provide
innovative ways that continuously improve teaching and learning. The School
Board supports our administrators, teachers, and instructional support personnel as
they “Lead the Way with Every Student, Every Day” with challenging learning
experiences to prepare them for College and Career Readiness.

from cradle to career, to build knowledge and skills for success in a globally and
digitally interconnected world. Representing over 5 million members of the global
workforce, P21 is a catalyst organization uniting business, government and
education leaders from the U.S. and abroad to advance evidence-based education
