COMING UP
The Lady Buffs hit the road this weekend for
Lone Star Conference action as they head to
San Angelo, Texas for a Friday night matchup
with #10 Angelo State followed by a Saturday
afternoon showdown with Tarleton State in
Stephenville.
- SCOUTING THE FIELD
ANGELO STATE
The Belles are led by eighth year head coach
Chuck Waddington who had led ASU to
four straight NCAA Postseason Appearances
including three South Central Regional Finals.
Angelo State enters the weekend with an
overall record of 21-2 with a 12-1 mark in LSC
play following a Wednesday night sweep of
Tarleton State in San Angelo. The Belles have
won eight straight matches dating back to a
five set loss in Canyon on Sept. 24.
The Belles are led offensively by Mallory Blausser
who has registered 329 kills on 874 swings with
69 attack errors to hit .297 on the season while
averaging 4.27 kills per set. Meghan Parker
guides the ASU offense with 899 assists (11.68/
set) while Brianna Sotello leads the team with
263 digs (3.42/set).
The Lady Buffs and Belles will resume one of the
best rivalries in DII Volleyball this weekend as
WT leads the all-time series, 56-18 with the Lady
Buffs snapping a three-match losing streak to
the Belles with a five-set win back on Sept. 23rd
in Canyon. WT is 21-8 all-time in San Angelo.
TARLETON STATE
The TexAnns are led by 12th year head coach
Mary Schindler who las led her alma mater to
back-to-back NCAA Postseason Appearances
and the 2015 Lone Star Conference
Championship.
Tarleton State enters the weekend with an
overall record of 18-5 with a 10-4 mark in LSC
play following a three set loss to #10 Angelo
State on Wednesday night in San Angelo. TSU
has dropped three of their last four contests.
The TexAnns are led offensively by the nation’s
kills and points leader Hailey Roberts who has
registered 434 kills (5.43/set) on 1,022 swings
with 170 attack errors to hit .258 on the season.
Jordyn Keamo paces the TSU offense with 901
assists (11.26/set) while Adrianna Knutson leads
TSU defensively with 364 digs (4.55/set).
The Lady Buffs lead the all-time series against
Tarleton State, 42-6 with the TexAnns taking
the last four meetings between the two teams
including a five-setter back on Sept. 22 in
Canyon. WT is 19-2 all-time in Stephenville.
- A LOOK BACK
CU RECAP
WT senior middle blocker Elisa Bentsen
registered 14 kills on 22 swings to hit .455 on the
night as the Lady Buffs raced past the visiting
Cameron Aggies (25-17, 25-12, 25-18).
The Lady Buffs were led offensively by Bentsen
with 14 kills on 22 swings with just four attack
errors to hit .455 on the night followed by Crystal
Thomas with 11 kills, Selena Batiste dished out
a match high 40 assists followed by Kyli Schulz
with six while Cori Haley led all players with 22
digs on the night followed by Lauren Britten
with 16. The Lady Buffs registered 51 kills on 123
swings with 15 attack errors to hit .293 as a team
with 48 assists, 61 digs and seven total blocks in
the win.
MSU RECAP
WT started fast and never looked back as
they moved to a perfect 34-0 all-time against
Midwestern State with a sweep (25-12, 25-16,
25-21).
WT was led offensively by Larami Lancaster with
10 kills on 18 swings with no attack errors to hit
.556 to go along with 2.5 total blocks while Elisa
Bentsen also registered 10 kills on 15 swings with
one error to hit .600 in the win, Selena Batiste
dished out a match high 39 assists while Lauren
Britten led all players with 19 digs followed by
Cori Haley with 16. WT registered 44 kills on
110 swings with 14 attack errors to hit .273 in
the match with 44 assists, 56 digs and six total
blocks.

2016 LADY BUFF VOLLEYBALL GAME NOTES
THE LONE STAR CONFERENCE
Entering this week, LSC volleyball teams were
137-115 overall this season. The squads are
currently 15-9 combined versus Rocky Mountain
Athletic Conference teams, and 23-9 against
the Heartland Conference, which are the other
leagues in the NCAA South Central Region.
Eastern New Mexico’s Laruen Frye was named
the LSC Offensive Player of the Week while Tex-
as A&M-Kingsville’s Haley Hutchinson picked up
the Defensive honors, Angelo State’s Meghan
Parker was tabbed the league’s Setter of the
Week on Tuesday afternoon by the LSC offices
located in Richardson, Texas.
HOME DOMINANCE
West Texas A&M is fortunate to have one of
the best home environments in all of NCAA
Volleyball, in any division. The WTAMU Field-
house is more affectionately known as “The
Box,” is home to 19 Lone Star Conference
Championships, 13 Regional Titles and three
NCAA Division II National Championships. The
WTAMU Fieldhouse “The Box” boats one of
the best home winning records in the NCAA
on any level of competition. The Lady Buffs
are 451-71 at The Box since the 1980 season
for an incredible winning percentage of
86.4%.
WT HEAD COACH JASON SKOCH
WT head coach Jason Skoch, a four-time
Lone Star Conference Coach of the Year,
is now in his eighth season at the helm of
the Lady Buffs, carrying an overall career
record of 366-76 (.834, 12th year including a
230-56 (.813) mark in Canyon. Skoch has led
the Lady Buffs to seven appearances in the
NCAA Postseason with three South Central
Regional Titles and a National Runner-Up
finish in 2009.

MOVING ON UP
Senior libero Lauren Britten is making her
way up the program’s all-time digs list as
the Amarillo High School alumni currently sits
in fourth place in the WT record books with
1,947 career digs. She is one of only four Lady
Buffs in history with atleast 1,900 career digs
and the Amarillo native currently sits 203 digs
behind Brittani Bell (2,150 / 2002-05) for third
place all-time.

87CONSECUTIVE LSC VICTORIES - The Lady Buffs
own the NCAA Division II record for consecutive wins
against conference opponents, WT claimed 87 straight
wins against the Lone Star Conference between September 8, 2006
and September 13, 2011. During that five-year span, the Lady Buffs
claimed five Lone Star Conference Championships and made three
appearances in the NCAA Elite Eight with a National Runner-Up finish
in 2009.
26ALL-AMERICANS - The Lady Buffs have produced an
impressive number of 26 All-Americans in program history
including a pair of DII National Players of the Year: Cristina
Pereira (1991) and Sarah Butler-Carthel (1997,1999).
19LSC CHAMPIONSHIPS - To say that the Lady Buffs
have dominated the Lone Star Conference over the past
three decades would be an understatement. The Lady
Buffs own a 278-48 overall record in the LSC, winning an staggering
86 percent of their matches.
13REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS - The Lady Buffs
have claimed 13 South Central Regional Titles on their way
to the Division II Elite Eight during their 25 all-time appear-
ances in the NCAA Postseason.
1,022VICTORIES SINCE 1980 - The Lady Buffs
have dominated Division II Volleyball dating back
to the 1980 season. Since that time, the Lady Buffs
are 1,022-377-2 which is a winning percentage of over 72 percent.
25NCAA POSTSEASON APPEARANCES - The
Lady Buffs have one of the most storied programs in all of
NCAA Division II. Since 1988, WT has made an incredible 25
appearances in the NCAA Postseason including 10 straight. The Lady
Buffs rank fifth all-time in postseason appearances trailing only Cen-
tral Missouri (32), Tampa (30), New Haven (29) and Fl. Southern (28).

3NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS - Winning a National
Championship in any level of competition is an impressive feat,
the Lady Buffs have claimed the highest prize in all of NCAA
Division II Volleyball three times in the program’s history in 1990, 1991
and 1997.

2016 LADY BUFF VOLLEYBALL GAME NOTES
	 	 Entering his eighth season at West Texas A&M in 2016,
head coach Jason Skoch looks to build upon the great success
of his first seven years as the Lady Buffs’ leader.
	 	 The 2014 campaign was another dominating run thru
the Lone Star Conference for the Lady Buffs as they went a
perfect 16-0 in league play to claim their 19th LSC Championship
while registering a perfect league record for the 16th time
since the 1986 season. The Lady Buffs participated in their 10th straight and 25th overall
apearance in the NCAA Postseason as they made an appearance in the South Central
Regional Semifinals before dropping a five-set thriller to host Colorado Mesa in Grand
Juntion to finish the season with an overall record of 32-5. Skoch was named the LSC
Coach of the Year for the second straight season and his fourth overall award since
joining the league prior to the 2009 season.
	 2013 saw the Lady Buffs continue their dominance of the Lone Star Conference as the team went a perfect
16-0 in league play to claim the program’s 18th LSC Title. WT hosted the South Central Regional Tournament at
“The Box” as they claimed the program’s 13th Regional Title, the Lady Buffs advanced to the National Semifinal
match before falling to BYU-Hawaii in a five-set thriller. Skoch was named the American Volleyball Coaches
Association (AVCA) South Central Region Coach of the Year as well as the LSC Coach of the Year for his efforts.
	 The 2012 season saw the Lady Buffs claim the LSC Tournament Title after a thrilling five set win over Angelo
State in San Angelo, Texas followed by WT taking the South Central Regional Championship to make the
program’s 12th appearance in the NCAA Elite Eight held in Pensacola, Florida. WT finished the season with an
overall record of 33-5.
	 In 2011, the Lady Buffs went 34-3 including a 19-1 mark in the LSC for their sixth consecutive and 17th overall
LSC Championship. WT made its seventh consecutive trip to the NCAA postseason, Skoch picked up his second
consecutive LSC Coach of the Year honor. The Lady Buffs put their mark in the NCAA Record Books in 2011,
recording the longest conference win streak in Division II history of 87 matches from Sept. 8, 2006 – Sept. 17,
2011.
	 In 2010, the Lady Buffs finished the season with a 27-9 overall record and a flawless 14-0 mark in the LSC. The
team won its fifth consecutive LSC Championship and 16th overall. WT reached the NCAA Postseason for a
sixth consecutive season before Emporia State in the opening round of the South Central Regional Tournament.
Skoch was named the LSC Coach of the Year.
	 In his first season with the team in 2009, Skoch (rhymes with ‘coach’) led the ultra-successful Lady Buffs to
fourth-consecutive and 15th all-time Lone Star Conference title, 20th NCAA Regional tournament appearance
and 11th NCAA Regional title, and 11th NCAA Elite Eight appearance. The team experienced their fourth
National Championship match appearance in Lady Buff history and finished second behind three-time national
champions, Concordia-St. Paul, finishing the season with a 39-4 record.
	 Skoch currently boasts an incredible career win-loss record of 336-50 (.870) in his 10 years as
a head coach, including a 200-30 (.870) mark in his six seasons at the helm of the Lady Buffs.
Before coming to Canyon, Skoch served as head coach at Truman State. While with the
Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association-member, he guided the Bulldogs to four-
consecutive top-10 rankings in the AVCA final poll.
	 While at Truman State, he compiled a 137-22 record (.861), made five consecutive
trips to the NCAA Tournament, developed 11 All-America student-athletes as well as two
MIAA Most Valuable Players. The Bulldogs were MIAA regular-season and tournament
champions in both 2006 and 2007, and spent a portion of the 2005 campaign
ranked number-one in the national polls. Additionally, the Bulldogs have been
ranked in the AVCA Division II Top 25 Poll every week during his tenure as head
coach. While still at Truman, Skoch recruited the 2009 AVCA National Freshman
of the Year, Megan Sharpe.
	 Skoch came to Truman after spending one season as an assistant coach at
Mississippi State University. He was part of a first-year coaching staff which led
Mississippi State to an improvement of 11 wins overall and tied a school record
for the most wins in Southeastern Conference (SEC) play.
	 Skoch also had previous NCAA Division II experience as he was an assistant
coach at Central Oklahoma in 2003. Other coaching experience for Skoch
includes spending one season as head coach with the Stillwater Volleyball Club
and the Kaeppa Oklahoma Charge Volleyball Club. He is a former player with
club teams at Penn State University, the University of Memphis and Oklahoma
State University.
	 Skoch earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State in
1998, with a major in statistics and a minor in mathematics. He earned a
Master of Science in Statistics from Penn State in 2001.
	 Skoch and his wife, Karen, reside in Canyon with their son, Jay and twin
boys, Kyle and Kade.

Angelo State enters the weekend with an overall record of 21-2 with a 12-1 mark in LSC play following a Wednesday night sweep of Tarleton State in San Angelo. The Belles have won eight straight matches dating back to a five set loss in Canyon on Sept. 24. The Belles are led offensively by Mallory Blausser who has registered 329 kills on 874 swings with 69 attack errors to hit .297 on the season while averaging 4.27 kills per set. Meghan Parker guides the ASU offense with 899 assists (11.68/ set) while Brianna Sotello leads the team with 263 digs (3.42/set). The Lady Buffs and Belles will resume one of the best rivalries in DII Volleyball this weekend as WT leads the all-time series, 56-18 with the Lady Buffs snapping a three-match losing streak to the Belles with a five-set win back on Sept. 23rd in Canyon. WT is 21-8 all-time in San Angelo. TARLETON STATE The TexAnns are led by 12th year head coach Mary Schindler who las led her alma mater to back-to-back NCAA Postseason Appearances and the 2015 Lone Star Conference Championship. Tarleton State enters the weekend with an overall record of 18-5 with a 10-4 mark in LSC play following a three set loss to #10 Angelo State on Wednesday night in San Angelo. TSU has dropped three of their last four contests. The TexAnns are led offensively by the nation’s kills and points leader Hailey Roberts who has registered 434 kills (5.43/set) on 1,022 swings with 170 attack errors to hit .258 on the season. Jordyn Keamo paces the TSU offense with 901 assists (11.26/set) while Adrianna Knutson leads TSU defensively with 364 digs (4.55/set). The Lady Buffs lead the all-time series against Tarleton State, 42-6 with the TexAnns taking the last four meetings between the two teams including a five-setter back on Sept. 22 in Canyon. WT is 19-2 all-time in Stephenville. - A LOOK BACK CU RECAP WT senior middle blocker Elisa Bentsen registered 14 kills on 22 swings to hit .455 on the night as the Lady Buffs raced past the visiting Cameron Aggies (25-17, 25-12, 25-18). The Lady Buffs were led offensively by Bentsen with 14 kills on 22 swings with just four attack errors to hit .455 on the night followed by Crystal Thomas with 11 kills, Selena Batiste dished out a match high 40 assists followed by Kyli Schulz with six while Cori Haley led all players with 22 digs on the night followed by Lauren Britten with 16. The Lady Buffs registered 51 kills on 123 swings with 15 attack errors to hit .293 as a team with 48 assists, 61 digs and seven total blocks in the win. MSU RECAP WT started fast and never looked back as they moved to a perfect 34-0 all-time against Midwestern State with a sweep (25-12, 25-16, 25-21). WT was led offensively by Larami Lancaster with 10 kills on 18 swings with no attack errors to hit .556 to go along with 2.5 total blocks while Elisa Bentsen also registered 10 kills on 15 swings with one error to hit .600 in the win, Selena Batiste dished out a match high 39 assists while Lauren Britten led all players with 19 digs followed by Cori Haley with 16. WT registered 44 kills on 110 swings with 14 attack errors to hit .273 in the match with 44 assists, 56 digs and six total blocks.   • 2. 2016 LADY BUFF VOLLEYBALL GAME NOTES THE LONE STAR CONFERENCE Entering this week, LSC volleyball teams were 137-115 overall this season. The squads are currently 15-9 combined versus Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference teams, and 23-9 against the Heartland Conference, which are the other leagues in the NCAA South Central Region. Eastern New Mexico’s Laruen Frye was named the LSC Offensive Player of the Week while Tex- as A&M-Kingsville’s Haley Hutchinson picked up the Defensive honors, Angelo State’s Meghan Parker was tabbed the league’s Setter of the Week on Tuesday afternoon by the LSC offices located in Richardson, Texas. HOME DOMINANCE West Texas A&M is fortunate to have one of the best home environments in all of NCAA Volleyball, in any division. The WTAMU Field- house is more affectionately known as “The Box,” is home to 19 Lone Star Conference Championships, 13 Regional Titles and three NCAA Division II National Championships. The WTAMU Fieldhouse “The Box” boats one of the best home winning records in the NCAA on any level of competition. The Lady Buffs are 451-71 at The Box since the 1980 season for an incredible winning percentage of 86.4%. WT HEAD COACH JASON SKOCH WT head coach Jason Skoch, a four-time Lone Star Conference Coach of the Year, is now in his eighth season at the helm of the Lady Buffs, carrying an overall career record of 366-76 (.834, 12th year including a 230-56 (.813) mark in Canyon. Skoch has led the Lady Buffs to seven appearances in the NCAA Postseason with three South Central Regional Titles and a National Runner-Up finish in 2009.   • 4. 2016 LADY BUFF VOLLEYBALL GAME NOTES Entering his eighth season at West Texas A&M in 2016, head coach Jason Skoch looks to build upon the great success of his first seven years as the Lady Buffs’ leader. The 2014 campaign was another dominating run thru the Lone Star Conference for the Lady Buffs as they went a perfect 16-0 in league play to claim their 19th LSC Championship while registering a perfect league record for the 16th time since the 1986 season. The Lady Buffs participated in their 10th straight and 25th overall apearance in the NCAA Postseason as they made an appearance in the South Central Regional Semifinals before dropping a five-set thriller to host Colorado Mesa in Grand Juntion to finish the season with an overall record of 32-5. Skoch was named the LSC Coach of the Year for the second straight season and his fourth overall award since joining the league prior to the 2009 season. 2013 saw the Lady Buffs continue their dominance of the Lone Star Conference as the team went a perfect 16-0 in league play to claim the program’s 18th LSC Title. WT hosted the South Central Regional Tournament at “The Box” as they claimed the program’s 13th Regional Title, the Lady Buffs advanced to the National Semifinal match before falling to BYU-Hawaii in a five-set thriller. Skoch was named the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) South Central Region Coach of the Year as well as the LSC Coach of the Year for his efforts. The 2012 season saw the Lady Buffs claim the LSC Tournament Title after a thrilling five set win over Angelo State in San Angelo, Texas followed by WT taking the South Central Regional Championship to make the program’s 12th appearance in the NCAA Elite Eight held in Pensacola, Florida. WT finished the season with an overall record of 33-5. In 2011, the Lady Buffs went 34-3 including a 19-1 mark in the LSC for their sixth consecutive and 17th overall LSC Championship. WT made its seventh consecutive trip to the NCAA postseason, Skoch picked up his second consecutive LSC Coach of the Year honor. The Lady Buffs put their mark in the NCAA Record Books in 2011, recording the longest conference win streak in Division II history of 87 matches from Sept. 8, 2006 – Sept. 17, 2011. In 2010, the Lady Buffs finished the season with a 27-9 overall record and a flawless 14-0 mark in the LSC. The team won its fifth consecutive LSC Championship and 16th overall. WT reached the NCAA Postseason for a sixth consecutive season before Emporia State in the opening round of the South Central Regional Tournament. Skoch was named the LSC Coach of the Year. In his first season with the team in 2009, Skoch (rhymes with ‘coach’) led the ultra-successful Lady Buffs to fourth-consecutive and 15th all-time Lone Star Conference title, 20th NCAA Regional tournament appearance and 11th NCAA Regional title, and 11th NCAA Elite Eight appearance. The team experienced their fourth National Championship match appearance in Lady Buff history and finished second behind three-time national champions, Concordia-St. Paul, finishing the season with a 39-4 record. Skoch currently boasts an incredible career win-loss record of 336-50 (.870) in his 10 years as a head coach, including a 200-30 (.870) mark in his six seasons at the helm of the Lady Buffs. Before coming to Canyon, Skoch served as head coach at Truman State. While with the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association-member, he guided the Bulldogs to four- consecutive top-10 rankings in the AVCA final poll. While at Truman State, he compiled a 137-22 record (.861), made five consecutive trips to the NCAA Tournament, developed 11 All-America student-athletes as well as two MIAA Most Valuable Players. The Bulldogs were MIAA regular-season and tournament champions in both 2006 and 2007, and spent a portion of the 2005 campaign ranked number-one in the national polls. Additionally, the Bulldogs have been ranked in the AVCA Division II Top 25 Poll every week during his tenure as head coach. While still at Truman, Skoch recruited the 2009 AVCA National Freshman of the Year, Megan Sharpe. Skoch came to Truman after spending one season as an assistant coach at Mississippi State University. He was part of a first-year coaching staff which led Mississippi State to an improvement of 11 wins overall and tied a school record for the most wins in Southeastern Conference (SEC) play. Skoch also had previous NCAA Division II experience as he was an assistant coach at Central Oklahoma in 2003. Other coaching experience for Skoch includes spending one season as head coach with the Stillwater Volleyball Club and the Kaeppa Oklahoma Charge Volleyball Club. He is a former player with club teams at Penn State University, the University of Memphis and Oklahoma State University. Skoch earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State in 1998, with a major in statistics and a minor in mathematics. He earned a Master of Science in Statistics from Penn State in 2001. Skoch and his wife, Karen, reside in Canyon with their son, Jay and twin boys, Kyle and Kade.
