Becoming ‘Quietly’ Effective
Being quietly effective: You don’t have to tell anyone else
about your victories to make them meaningful to you
You will become a victim if you NEED to inform others before
you can be satisfied yourself
Once you start realizing it as a ‘NEED’, you are at the mercy of
the other people’s recognition of you
And if they refuse to recognize your value or your
achievements for whatever reasons, you will collapse
Becoming ‘Quietly’ Effective
As a result people start retaliating and frustrating you
The most important key to being quietly effective lies in how
you feel about yourself
If you have self-confidence, then pleasing yourself will be
enough, since the self you are pleasing is worthy.
But if you lack self-esteem, then you will look to others for a
verification of your esteem, and this will be where you get
yourself into trouble.
Becoming ‘Quietly’ Effective
When you begin to develop your self-confidence, you will stop
expecting everyone to want to hear your stories, as well as
find solitude more acceptable.
Your privacy is a very important part of your life, and it is
necessary to your own sense of well-being.
Wanting to have everyone understand and share everything
that you think, feel, say and do is a self-victimizing attitude.
The Power of Silence
BE SILENT!!! SILENCE IS THE KEY FOR SUCCESS!!!!!
Staying silent helps give you a reason to speak, to analyze your situations and yourself, to be
aware of how you are going to react. Silence enriches you. Will you allow it to enter your life?

Step 1: Questions to Ask from Yourself
1. What is my base (footing) for achieving the goal?
2. What am I best at? What makes me unique?
3. What are the “big rocks” – strategic objectives (short term
targets) – I need to reach my goals?
4. What must I accomplish over the next 5 to 6 months to achieve
these?
5. What am I not going to do?
6. What issues/hurdles must I still address?
7. How will I measure my success?
Step 2: Information you Need
Personal SWOT through self reflection,
List of your unique strengths and capabilities
Your previous performance outcomes in life (personal,
financial, professional etc.)
Step 3: Outcomes / Deliverables
Drafted competitive advantages (differentiating
skills/strengths etc.)
Long-term clear goals with a focused direction
Short - and mid-term objectives
Step 4: Action Grid
Action Tools, Techniques and Activities Estimated Duration
Solidify your competitive edge
based on your key strengths
Formulate all encompassing
strategies that explain your base
for achieving your main goal
Define long-term strategic
objectives/priorities
Set short-term SMART
organizational goals and
measures
Select on which measures will be
your key performance indicators
