Dear Valued Customers:
Please take note of the following important changes in the Golden State Bulb Growers Price List for
Fall 06…Spring 07.
First of all, we have STOPPED OFFERING Hardy Cyclamen and both yellow and white Ismenes.
We have also STOPPED OFFERING Named Strain begonias. These were the Santa and San series
begonias that were hand dug and sold at premium prices.
However, all 50 of our other guaranteed best – in the – world AmeriHybrid
®
tuberous begonias remain
in our Spring 07 offerings.
Please also note that all of our items have experienced a 1.5 to 3% price increase with the exception of
AmeriHybrid
®
begonias, which have remained unchanged.
New for 06/07, domestic orders requesting shipment in plastic crates will be billed $1.50 per crate.
This applies to orders for all Fall items as well as shipments of Callafornia Callas®®
. Large orders
should be packed in crates as this allows the product to be stored in crates prior to handling.
Please review all our 06/07 prices as listed here and make the appropriate changes to your offers. Also
note that Callafornia Callas
®®
ORDERS FOR GROWER PRODUCT MUST SPECIFY USE: for
small pots, medium pots, large pots or cuts. Orders will not be confirmed unless the use for product is
specified on your purchase orders.
Please also pay special attention to our minimum order requirements as found on page 10. We are no
longer willing to waive any minimum order service charges and we will bill for these without
exception. Domestic orders must have a GSBG invoice value of over $500 to avoid the $30 charge
levied on $300-500 orders. Orders under $300 will not be accepted. Export orders must be over $2,500
to avoid the $100 service charge levied on orders between $1,250 and $2,500. Export orders under
$1,250 GSBG invoice value will not be accepted.

Custom mix of Pastels or bold Tropical colors available on request.
Like its namesake, this smooth-petaled American Begonia has an outstanding and distinctly symmetrical
form. Unlike the often flat and semi-double Camellia Begonia, Roseform Begonia blooms are excep-
tionally large (4-8"), consistent and markedly three-dimensional.

AmeriHybrid®
Hanging Basket Begonias are a large double-
flowered strain that produces twice as many flower stalks as
the European varieties. Their exceptional branching habit
requires fewer bulbs to fill a container with truly classic
beauty. AmeriHybrids®
produce the largest flowers of any
pendula type. Flowers often measure 3" to 6" across and are
available in a wide range of colors listed below.

An evergreen calla in mild areas with exceptional keeping qualities as a cut flower. Large green and white
blooms. Like its relative, the large white aethiopica above, Green Goddess is similar in size and makes a good
container plant when growth regulators are applied.
CALLA, GREEN GODDESS (Aethiopica) (week 33-47)
All sizes use 1.8 cu. ft. box
*As with spring callas, grower aethiopica have multiple eyes and make a more pot-suitable plant. Grower bulbs
are clusters. Dry Sales bulbs are horns. However, this difference is less pronounced in the smaller 1 1/4-1 1/2"
and 1 1/2-1 3/4" grades.
Please indicate "for pots" AND SIZE OF CONTAINER or "for cuts"

Wonderful garden item in warm areas and excellent cut flower. Also, with
Bonzi, aethiopica makes a good winter-to-spring potted plant. Small to
medium bulbs should be planted in a 6-8" pot, and larger bulbs make fine
tub items. When plants are not treated with Bonzi or are in established
stands, flower stems can reach a height of 30" and more. Great for bogs
and borders around ponds.

Our calla pricing program is segregated into grower and dry sales bulbs in order to provide the best
possible product to each type of user. A preconditioning option with gibberellins and disinfectants is available at
an additional $35.00/M charge. Preconditioning doubles the number of flowers in most varieties and
increases disease resistance.
Because grower product is produced with higher inputs, i.e., field fumigation, rigorous virus vector controls and
staged, controlled temperature curing, our prices on grower product are $20.00/M over the dry sales prices. We
do not recommend grower product for dry sales, as the bulbs sprout quickly and are often shipped with sprouts
showing. Please specify "grower" or "dry sales" and "preconditioned" or "not preconditioned" when
ordering Callafornia Callas®
. You should also indicate "for 4, 6, 8" etc. pots" or "for cuts," as this will
help us to provide the best possible product for your specific needs.
All growers are encouraged to follow our REV. 2/2005 Guidelines for Pot Growers or our 2/2004
Culture for Cut Flower Growers. Problems will be credited only if these Guidelines are fol-
lowed and only if "preconditioned" tubers are purchased.
Please note that the small size 1 1/4-1 1/2" are offered only to growers and are not for dry sales. This is because
they will force in a pot as multiple-bulb plantings but will not perform adequately in the garden.
PACKING CHARGES: Orders requesting shipment in plastic crates will be billed at $ 1.50 for each
crate. See chart below for packs and weights. If crates are returned, credit will be issued. For all export
countries requiring hard wood or heat treated pallets, there will be a $ 7.00 per pallet charge.
Our Tech Sheet CD and website (www.goldenstatebulb.com) provide considerable descriptive and best
use information for all our varieties. These should be referred to when planning potting date, pot sizes,
Bonzi use, etc.
STANDARD PACKS and TRAY-COUNT MINIMUMS & MULTIPLES required for all spring calla

Antique is a robust, large-flowered variety with especially long stems. Blooms are creamy white,
overlaid with a patina-like shading of purple and lavender. Color is slightly muted, providing an
antique appearance. Blooms are 2 to 3" across and 3 to 4" deep. Antique is a long-lasting cut
flower and an exceptional garden variety.

Outstanding flowers, 2-3" in diameter, with clear long-lasting color. Parfait has good disease
tolerance and is an extraordinarily good fit for any pot or cut-flower program. Flower color
ranges from a true red to rose pink; foliage is fully maculated. Flower stems are substantial and
resist drooping. Exceptional for medium and large pots and cut-flower production.
Has totally unique peach/apricot bicolor blooms 2-3" in diameter set against broad green non
spotted ovate leaves. It is relatively compact, making an excellent medium-size pot, though it can
work in small pots as well.

eter. Leaves are plain green. Though it has a compact plant habit, Mint Julip does require
Bonzi and cool temps for adequate stem and leaf strength. Excellent for 4" and 6"
pots and a good garden plant as well.

Amethyst is a select cross from the previous Lavender Gem group. Its numerous, well-rounded,
2" diameter, and nearly purple flowers, are carried on exceptionally compact and full plants with
stem heights of 8-12" when pot cultural practices are applied. Foliage is deep green and not
spotted. Amethyst is compact, uniform and an early forcer, making it a great small and
medium-sized container plant.
Lavender Gem has improved substantially over the past 12 years. This improved Lavender is far
more uniform in plant habit, bloom position and bloom color than the earlier Lavender Gem.
Blooms are 1 1/2-2" in diameter. It works well in the garden but is especially well suited to
small and medium-sized pots. Good early forcer.

bicolor look. Stems are 9-15" tall with pot cultural practices applied. Foliage is plain green, very
full and compact. Good in both 4" and 6" pots as well as the garden. Available for early

Dark Eyes. Lipstick foliage is medium green and is not maculated. Under forcing conditions,
foliage can be somewhat soft and therefore benefits from Bonzi or cool weather "toning." A

The shorter and most floriferous of the three old-time species, Pink rehmannii is well suited to pot
culture. Stems can be held to 10-16" in height, depending on bulb size and cultural conditions.
Rehmannii is also used in floral arrrangements where the 1 1/2"-diameter blooms last 2 weeks or
more in the vase.

Blooms are similar to Rubylite Rose, but with a softer, more pastel pink hue. Flowers are large,
and somewhat recurved, with a uniform pink color that lasts throughout the blooming season.
Pink Ice is more robust than rehmannii superba and its leaves are wider and more substantial.
Total stem production will exceed rehmannii superba. This is a reasonably sturdy plant that
makes an excellent garden variety. Well suited to 6" pots and good in 4" pots as well. Pink
Ice is both an early and highly determinant bloomer.

intensity. Excellent cut flower and garden variety. Not recommended for smaller pots.

varieties. Great for 4" and 6" pots.

Yellow Hybrid grows 16-26" in height and up to 28" in a shadehouse. Produces large showy flowers
2 1/2-3" in diameter. The stems are strong and, like the others, keep well. Hybrid yellows are used
for both large pots and cuts. Yellow Hybrid callas are less disease resistant than most other
varieties. Excellent garden and mid to large-sized pot variety. Recommended for experienced
forcers only.

Is a sturdy deep yellow variety with strong upright stems blooms 2-3” in diameter and spotted
foliage. It makes an excellent medium to large pot or gallon and garden item. This is the toughest
yellow calla we grow. It is long blooming and can take some abuse.

Spectacular golden yellow 3 to 5" diameter blooms. Golden Chalice is uniform and compact with
lightly spotted foliage. Large flowers on stout stems with predictable bloom and plant habit provide
real improvements over standard Yellow Hybrid for pots. Bonzi responsiveness allows stems to be
held down to 12-14". Suitable for 4" as well as medium to large pots, cuts or garden applica-
tions. Disease resistant.
Features huge 2 1/2-4" diameter golden yellow flowers on long stems, suitable for cut-flower
and garden applications. Millennium Gold, a vigorous mid-season variety, is especially dis-
ease resistant. Garden plantings can be left undisturbed for years in areas where the ground does
not freeze. For pot culture, we recommend a pot size of at least 6".

Bright lemon-yellow blooms, 2-3" diameter, are held on stout stems. Blooms contrast beautifully
against dense, highly-maculated foliage. Well suited to large containers, Solar Flare gives a unique
potted presentation. Dense medium green, arrow-shaped foliage with very attractive heavy
maculation. Good for 4" as well as 6" and larger pots.

Perfectly formed, extraordinarily uniform yellow flowers on a somewhat open plant. Sturdy, 18 to
23" stems and 2 to 3" diameter blooms make this variety a natural for cut flowers and for
garden culture. Sunshine will produce more blooms than any other yellow variety in our "cut"
line. Stem count per unit area is exceptional. Works well in 6" and larger pots, especially
when multiples per pot are used.

Lemon Drop produces a unique compact and full spotted-leaf plant yielding numerous lemon -
yellow blooms which are 2-3” in diameter. It is a vigorous plant with superior determinance and
relatively high disease resistance; though it is salt sensitive and requires periodic leaching. Good in
small and large pots.

A preconditioning option with gibberellins and disinfectants is available at an additional $35.00/M charge. Preconditioning doubles the number of flowers in most varieties and increases disease resistance. Because grower product is produced with higher inputs, i.e., field fumigation, rigorous virus vector controls and staged, controlled temperature curing, our prices on grower product are $20.00/M over the dry sales prices. We do not recommend grower product for dry sales, as the bulbs sprout quickly and are often shipped with sprouts showing. Please specify "grower" or "dry sales" and "preconditioned" or "not preconditioned" when ordering Callafornia Callas® . You should also indicate "for 4, 6, 8" etc. pots" or "for cuts," as this will help us to provide the best possible product for your specific needs. All growers are encouraged to follow our REV. 2/2005 Guidelines for Pot Growers or our 2/2004 Culture for Cut Flower Growers. Problems will be credited only if these Guidelines are fol- lowed and only if "preconditioned" tubers are purchased. Please note that the small size 1 1/4-1 1/2" are offered only to growers and are not for dry sales. This is because they will force in a pot as multiple-bulb plantings but will not perform adequately in the garden. PACKING CHARGES: Orders requesting shipment in plastic crates will be billed at $ 1.50 for each crate. See chart below for packs and weights. If crates are returned, credit will be issued. For all export countries requiring hard wood or heat treated pallets, there will be a $ 7.00 per pallet charge. Our Tech Sheet CD and website (www.goldenstatebulb.com) provide considerable descriptive and best use information for all our varieties. These should be referred to when planning potting date, pot sizes, Bonzi use, etc. STANDARD PACKS and TRAY-COUNT MINIMUMS & MULTIPLES required for all spring calla orders - See Sales Terms for additional information, Page 21 and 22.
