School Adjustment Counselor
• Assess and evaluate adolescents referred to the counseling program. Develop
treatment plans for those who are recommended for counseling.
• Provide individual and group counseling to over 60 adolescents per academic
year. Focusing on educational, developmental, and emotional issues, (including
but not limited to self-esteem, peer and family relationships, adjustment disorders,
bereavement, aggression, impulse control, motivation, anxiety disorders,
depression, sucidality, eating disorders, gender issues, substance abuse, and teen
pregnancy).
• Provide support services and resources to parents of the students involved in the
counseling program.
• Facilitate evening parent support groups, open to all parents of students enrolled
in the High School.
• Consult with faculty and administrators regarding the needs of the students in the
counseling program.
• Ongoing contact and referrals with The Department of Social Services,
Department of Youth Services, hospitals, private agencies, therapists, and
physicians to collaborate services.
• Member of the Student Support Team, IEP team, and 10th
grade looping team,
working with the Associate Principal, 10th
Grade Dean, guidance counselors, and
school nurse.
• Supervise Boston College, Masters of Social Work Students, and Cambridge
College, School Adjustment Counseling Students.

• Part time self employment.
• Evaluated and developed treatment plans for adolescents and adults.
• Provided individual psychotherapy to adolescents and adults focusing on the
treatment of depression, anxiety, and panic disorders, post traumatic stress
disorders, and adjustment disorders.
• Consulted with medical professionals to monitor clients who are also receiving
medication.
