River Bend Golf Club completed many improvement projects in 2014 including a new maintenance contract, removing railroad ties, new tee signage and flower arrangements, and connecting cart paths with asphalt. Projects planned for 2015 are completing sprinkler replacement on greens and tees, overhauling irrigation pumps, and further course maintenance. Some of the 2014 projects included constructing a practice bunker, removing vegetation, clearing trees, and repairing irrigation leaks.
1. 2014 River Bend Golf Club Improvments & Projects
River Bend Golf Club started the year with a new maintenane contract. Steve Schendel,
VP of Golf Maintenance Solutions and Virgil Range III, course superintendent did an outstanding
job with completing many projects and improvements. The following pictures are some of the
projects and improvements made in the 2014 season.
GMS will continue course mainteance at River Bend for the 2015 season. Along with
normal course maintenace some of the projects they will be working on will include completing
the removal of railroad ties, new tee hole signage areas with new flower arrangements and ball
washers, connecting the cart paths at #9 fairway with asphault, completing green & tee
sprinkler replacement, and overhauling the irrigation pumps are a few things we will be
working on in 2015.
Cutting the grasses allowed golfers to see the green instead of hitting a blind shot on #9.
2. Construction started for a practice bunker on Dec 15th
The bunker was completed on Dec 24th 2014.
3. Removal of RR ties was needed for cart path renovations for asphalt.
