Dear Sir/Madam,
I am an experienced marketing professional, having spent more than 10 years in
research/advertising across India, GCC and Asia Pacific. Over the years, I have built up a sound
understanding of research and branding techniques (particularly in the FMCG space), as well as
analytical and sales acumen. I have managed both local and regional accounts for categories as
varied as FMCG, stationery, tobacco and household cleaning equipment.
In the last few years, I have partnered various client side teams, including consumer insights,
brand and trade marketing, in the process building up a sound understanding of the FMCG
business. As part of my role with Nielsen in the GCC, I had worked on site for nearly two years,
and opened up direct lines of communication at various levels within the client organization.
This has enabled me to better understand the everyday running of the business, as well as the
challenges and complexities of conducting business in different geographies.
In my time servicing multiple large clients, I have identified areas of growth for local (GCC and
Hong Kong) and regional (CEEMA and ASPAC) clients, enabling local and regional teams to make
strategic and tactical decisions. Some interesting examples of my contributions are as follows:
- Doubled revenues of the client account in 3 years in the GCC region, to nearly $1 million
- Leveraged strong relationships to introduce new non-retail audit (custom research and
advanced analytics) business to Nielsen with client
- Along with the client lead in the CEEMA region, co-created the first volume and value
forecasting model for all client categories. Created market entry strategies for the gum
and candy categories for the client in the GCC
- Turned around the strained working relationship with the ASPAC client team in Hong
Kong
- Led the Innovation practice for the Asia Pacific account of the client in the region
- Pioneered new ways of analyzing tobacco retail audit data using different segmentation
frameworks such as ‘Fresh and Stimulation’ and ‘Moderation’
- Analyzed new developments in the tobacco world such as markets going ‘dark’, plain
packaging and e-cigarettes, generating insights on how to win in an increasingly
regulated industry
After two years in Hong Kong, I am back in the UAE to continue my career here. I am confident
that my extensive agency experience would equip me suitably for a role in your organization. I
believe that my deep understanding of GCC markets built over a number of years would make
me an asset to your company.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Warm regards,
Vinit Oza
