Job experience
- PhD researcher at the Centre for Sociology at the University of Leuven since
September 2011. I helped organize the YES! Vlaanderen research among
students in 70 Flemish secondary schools and used these data to investigate
how teacher and school characteristics differentially shape schooling
trajectories of ethnic majority and minority children in Flanders.

2. - Academic job experience outside of doctoral work: teaching, reviewing (a.o.
for European Sociological Review, International Migration Review,
Sociological Perspectives, and The Social Science Journal), data management,
reviewing and editing manuscripts for publication, fundraising and
organization for conferences (ESRA conference 2015), writing technical reports

Professional qualifications
- Able to work with large data sets and perform complex statistical procedures
(multilevel, SEM, multiple mediator models etc.) using mainly Stata and
MPlus, with considerable experience in SPSS and incidental use of other
programs such as HLM, MLWin, and Amos;
- Able to speak and write academically in Dutch and English and to read and
understand Dutch, English, German and French;
- Wide knowledge in the social sciences, in particular on ethnicity and
migration.
- Hands-on experience with survey design, complex sampling, fieldwork, data
screening and cleaning, writing technical reports on data
- Experience as teacher and teaching assistant in bachelor and master level
courses in methodology and statistics (lectures on sampling, EFA, CFA and
SEM, practical sessions in Datareductie (3rd
