I worked with James, my client, 3 years ago
when he opened his first location at the
Pacific Rim. You know you gave your client a
good experience when they come back for
more.
This was a much more ambitious project,
where I had to combine a take-out gelateria
that he is famous for with a sit down pizzeria
restaurant. This has been the most
challenging and satisfying project so far in
my career.
The old space was a coffee shop and the
square footage was limited for the scope of
my clients’ vision. We needed to use every
square inch of the space to make it work.
I had to demolish everything that was there
and start from scratch, but I did keep all the
sanitary lines where they were in order to
help my client save some money. A great
percentage of the budget had to be used on
the practical appliances such as the gelato
lab which had an intricately designed water
cooling system & specialty gelato machines
& the beautiful handmade pizza oven from
Naples.
I was involved in this project from the
conceptual stage & was also hired as project
manager and I have to say I did overcome a
lot of challenges along the way.
