Because the earth continuously

sun, it is considered a renewable
resource.

wind.
Why is energy from
the wind renewable?
Wind is made
indirectly by solar
energy, which is
continuous, through
the uneven heating of
air.

8. BIOMASS
Energy from burning
organic or living matter.
Why is energy from biomass
renewable?
Biomass energy is energy
derived from burning
organic material such as
wood, charcoal, and
garbage. The term biomass
is derived from the words
biological and mass.

9. WATER or HYDROELECTRIC
Energy from the flow of
water.
Why is energy of flowing
water renewable?
Humans have used the
energy of falling water for
thousands of years. Today
the energy of falling water is
used to generate electrical
energy. This energy is called
hydroelectric energy.
