 Currently an Assistant Scoutmaster to Troop 351 of Madison, Alabama.
Often during summer and winter breaks from college, I work with scouts
and sign off on requirements for rank advancement.
 Merit badge counselor to the Railroading Merit Badge.

o Bronze Palm (19-September-2011)

 My Eagle Project was to construct several shelving units
for the local non-profit church thrift store. The church
was relocating the store to a new facility and they
needed new shelves to hold supplies in the new
building. I spent several days researching shelving
designs. Then I traveled to Lowes and Home Depot
where they donated wood and other supplies for me.
Finally, I organized volunteers to come to my house to
help construct the units.
 The World Conservation Award (2-July-2012)
o Awarded for completing all requirements for World
Conservation.
 Troop 351’s Golden Skillet Award (Summer 2010)
o Award to the patrol with the best cooked meal at a campout.
o Award based on presentation, tastes, and creativity
o Was awarded for our patrol’s chicken fricassee dish.
 Top Performing Patrol Award (Summer 2010): NYLT
o Nominated for being the Troop Guide whose patrol
demonstrated the most knowledge of scouting leadership and
management during NYLT.

 Best Dressed Troop Guide (Summer 2010): NYLT
o As a Troop Guide for the NYLT program for the Greater Alabama
Council, I was award the “Best Dressed” award by the staff.
o This award was based on creativity of costumes worn each
morning by the staff.
 Philmont Scout Ranch (Summer 2009)
o Traveled to Philmont and completed an 89 mile hike across the
ranch.
 NYLT Certified (Summer 2009)
o Nominated by members of Troop 351 to attend the National
Youth Leadership Training seminar hosted by the Greater
Alabama Council
 Camp Mack Morris “Death March” Badge (Summer 2006, Summer 2007)
o Awarded for participating in the traditional “Death March”
hosted by Camp Mack Morris.
o The march consists of a several milehike at sunrise across the
camp’s trails.
 Arrow of Life (12-August-2005)
o Award by Pack 261 of Covington, TN

Assistant Patrol Leader (Scorpion Patrol)
 Helped patrol leader organize meal plans with the patrol
 Created duty rosters for patrol members during campouts.
 Accountable for all patrol gear (stoves, tents, food, water, and
firewood, etc) and made sure all needed patrol gear was packed for
each campout
Patrol Leader (Scorpion Patrol)
 Accountable for all members of patrol
 Organized food menus for campouts with the patrol
 Tasked members of the patrol to gather different food and gear
needed for each campout (shopping for food, etc)
 Taught younger scouts skills to help with rank advancement

 Attended Patrol Leader’s Councils to help plan troop activities and
brainstorm ways to better run the troop
 Passed on information to the patrol regarding meetings, upcoming
events and other activities within the troop

 Creating map billboards for the Rainbow Mountain hiking trail
 Assistant with tornado relief after the storms of 2011.
