Here’s how
Step ONE:
Make the Decision

4. Step TWO:
Inform your existing accountant
Give them the details of your new
accountant

5. Step THREE:
Let your new accountant know
you have spoken to your existing
accountant

6. Step FOUR:
Your new accountant will confirm
with your existing accountant that
they do not object to them accepting
the appointment as your accountant
and/or tax adviser

7. Step FIVE:
Your new accountant will have to
run anti money laundering checks
(This is a legal requirement and standard)

8. Step SIX
Once everything comes back OK
you will be asked to sign
1) Letter of engagement
and
2) Form 64-8
(agent authorisation form)

9. How long will this take?
Normally 1-2 weeks

10. What could cause delays?
Slow response time from your existing accountant
Outstanding bills with your existing accountant
Your new accountant will let you know if they
require any further information
