Element Energy Advisors, a nationwide network of energy consultants based in Western Colorado, is giving back. For companies in Western Colorado who switch their commercial natural gas supplier to a lower cost supplier, we will donate 100% of our commission fees to a local nonprofit of their choice.
2. What is Natural Gas?
One of the top three major fossil fuels
Extracted from below the earth’s surface via drilling and fracking
Travels through pipelines
Unlike electricity, it can be stored underground or in caverns
Clean burning and efficient
3. What is Natural Gas?
Key unit of measure is a “therm” – one therm of natural gas contains
10,000 BTU of energy.
Ex.: A 1,600 sq. ft. house in Grand Junction uses about 5 therms a day in the winter.
Natural gas is a commodity with several points of pricing on the spot
market (ex. Henry Hub and City Gate); and because it’s a commodity,
pricing can and does fluctuate depending on current and expected supply
and demand.
4. Energy Deregulation
A little history – Power plants were once owned and operated by
monopoly utilities.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, they were broken apart and
“deregulated” much like the airlines and telephone companies.
Now retail firms in most states can sell electricity and gas to
consumers, delivering it via the existing transmission lines still
owned by traditional utilities, such as Xcel Energy.
8. Power of Choice
On average, we’ve saved
businesses 5-20% on their gas bill
by going with a different supplier.
9. About EEA
We represent several natural gas
suppliers, and because of the volume of
contracts we negotiate, we can lock in low
rates.
Our consultants are seasoned and
respected sales and marketing
representatives, who live here locally and
are invested in the community.
Our core value as a company is to “bring
our blessings home..”
14. Why Are We Doing This?
Nonprofits bring immeasurable value to our
community.
Area nonprofits are understaffed, under-
resourced and under-funded.
Funding sources are drying up in a lot of
areas.
Uncovering new funding sources is getting
harder.
16. How Are We Able to Do This?
EEA is based in Grand Junction, but we have
consultants all over the U.S.
Our success nationally has enabled us to offer this
giving program exclusively in our hometown. We want
to bring our blessings home.
Or course, we’re not able to do this without you, so …
17. Will You Help?
Help us donate $1 million over the
next three years, by switching,
saving and giving.
