undertook

&
Safety/Event
Safety
Advisor
role
for
the
Baku
2015
European
Games
Operation
Committee
(BEGOC),
responsible
for
delivering
the
1st
European
Games
in
Baku,
Azerbaijan
in
June
2015.
Tony
worked
directly
with
me
on
the
Crystal
Hall
venue
in
a
senior
management
position.
The
venue
is
multi
purpose
and
was
iconic
for
the
games.
It
hosted
five
sports
located
in
three
arenas
–
Boxing,
Fencing,
Karate,
Taekwondo,
and
Volleyball
–
had
16
days
of
competition
with
87
event
sessions,
welcomed
over
200,000
spectators,
and
was
delivered
by
a
workforce
of
approximately
3000
staff.
Tony
proved
to
be
an
invaluable
asset
to
the
entire
venue
team
and
myself.
He
had
an
integral
role
providing
advice,
guidance,
and
assurance
to
our
planning
in
what
was
a
highly
political
and
culturally
challenging
environment.
Using
his
past
experience,
excellent
interpersonal
and
communication
skills,
Tony
excelled
in
the
position.
Tony
was
always
courteous
and
willing
to
offer
assistance
to
staff,
volunteers
and
contractors
working
on
the
venue.
In
his
work,
Tony
demonstrated
the
highest
level
of
knowledge,
professionalism,
integrity
and
commitment.

in

Tony

event

event
management
