HALO SURFACES INTERNATIONAL LIMITED
COATINGS from Halo Surfaces
International Ltd are sensitive to
the environment.
Surface Preparation
Instructions
The surface must be clean, dry and in
sound condition. Remove all oil, dust,
grease and dirt using Halo Degreaser.
Rinse thoroughly with fresh water and
allow to dry. The moisture content must not
exceed 13%. It is vital that a floor that has
retained oil must be completely free from
wicking or a bond will not form and the
coating will delaminate.
Unsealed floors must be sealed and
Halo SV Enhancer Plus Sealer is strongly
recommended as it is formulated to bond
with Halo SV Enhancer Plus Sealer and
dries in 5 minutes.
Both new and previously painted surfaces
should be sanded to 220 grit before
applying Halo SV Anti-slip.
Remove all silicone sealers using Halo
Degreaser.
Test whether the surface is ready to coat
by sprinkling water onto the surfaces. If
the water beads, there is a sealer present
which must be removed before re-sealing
with Halo SV Enhancer Plus Sealer and
applying Halo SV Anti-slip.
Mask off adjacent areas.
Application Instructions
TEST: Because there are many
differences in substrates always test Halo
SV Anti-slip in an inconspicuous area to
ensure compatibility and performance and
the desired finish.
APPLICATION: Apply Halo SV Anti-slip
in an ambient temperature between 7-40
degrees Celsius, 90% RH or less, and, if
applying outdoors make sure that there
will be no rain or dew for 5 hours after
completing the coating process.
Product Description
Halo SV Anti-slip is a clear thin
protective coat containing mesh
beads for concrete, masonry
and tiled floors. It has been
formulated using the principles
of Halo Matrix-Nano™ controlled
chemical nanotechnology and is
peel and flake resistant. It can be
applied over Halo SV Enhancer
Plus Sealer to provide an anti-slip
coating system that is easy and
quick to apply and cost-effective.
Use on these substrates
Concrete and masonry floors,
masonry pavers, tiles, bricks and
cement blocks.
Solve these problems
Halo SV Anti-slip protects
against moisture and chloride ion
penetration, food and beverage
acids, bird and animal waste matter,
salt-spray, gum and graffiti. It also
provides protection against falling or
slipping on slippery surfaces.
Wind may affect the quality of the finish
and it may be necessary to erect a wind-
shield.
THOROUGHLY STIR the contents of the
container for several minutes (or shake it
thoroughly if the container is small) Re-stir
or re-shake the container every 15-20
minutes to ensure the nano particles
remain suspended.
Add 320 mesh glass beads supplied
separately to Halo SV Anti-slip at a ratio
of 100 grams of beads per litre of coating.
A more even finish will be achieved by
spraying the coating. Keep stirring the
mixture to ensure the beads do not clump
together.
Halo SV Anti-slip may be sprayed or
rolled.
Spraying: Use a portable alcohol and
acetone-proof sprayer with a grey or red
tip or an HVLP spray gun with a 1.0 size
tip and the pressure set at approximately
25 psi.
Spray test-patterns until you achieve an
elongated pattern 20-25 cm long and 5
cm wide in the middle with sufficient fluid
to cover but not to puddle. Work with a
waste bucket so that you start and finish
your spraying in the bucket and avoid
drips on the surface being coated. Hold
the tip of the HVLP gun or pump-sprayer
20-25 cm square from the surface. Apply
one coat in a cross-hatch or circular
pattern to provide sufficient coverage
without holes.
Rolling: Use an ultra-smooth high-density
foam roller and apply Halo SV Anti-slip
as quickly as possible in a cross-hatch
pattern always keeping a wet edge. Make
sure the roller is saturated at all times but
do not press down on the roller or over-
work the coating.
A second coat: Do not apply a second
coat unless there is a flaw in the
application of the first coat. In that case,
wait 24 hours, and then sand the surface
to 220 grit, clean and reapply.
Keep the lid on the tin to stop evaporation.

Halo SV Anti-slip gained an average of .59 when tested
by the wet pendulum method in New Zealand.
The building code requires a .4.
Halo SV Anti-slip is a gloss
finish
Glass beads may only be added to Halo
SV gloss finishes not satin.
Drying time
At 21 degrees Celsius 50% RH: Touch dry
2 hours; dry through 2-6 hours; walk on
10 – 12 hours; full cure 7 days.
Interruption of Work
As treated and untreated surfaces look
similar, finish work on an obvious point
such as a corner or mark where you have
stopped.
Cleaning Up
Clean tools and equipment immediately
with acetone.
Care and Maintenance
Clean with a mop and Halo Multi-purpose
Cleaner then rinse with fresh water. On a
large commercial floor use a floor-cleaning
machine in wash-mode using Halo Multi-
purpose Cleaner as the cleaning agent. A
soft non-abrasive pad may be used to buff
the floor for a shiny finish.
If Halo SV Anti-slip is damaged, lightly
sand the coating to 220 grit and reapply.

Surface Preparation Instructions The surface must be clean, dry and in sound condition. Remove all oil, dust, grease and dirt using Halo Degreaser. Rinse thoroughly with fresh water and allow to dry. The moisture content must not exceed 13%. It is vital that a floor that has retained oil must be completely free from wicking or a bond will not form and the coating will delaminate. Unsealed floors must be sealed and Halo SV Enhancer Plus Sealer is strongly recommended as it is formulated to bond with Halo SV Enhancer Plus Sealer and dries in 5 minutes. Both new and previously painted surfaces should be sanded to 220 grit before applying Halo SV Anti-slip. Remove all silicone sealers using Halo Degreaser. Test whether the surface is ready to coat by sprinkling water onto the surfaces. If the water beads, there is a sealer present which must be removed before re-sealing with Halo SV Enhancer Plus Sealer and applying Halo SV Anti-slip. Mask off adjacent areas. Application Instructions TEST: Because there are many differences in substrates always test Halo SV Anti-slip in an inconspicuous area to ensure compatibility and performance and the desired finish. APPLICATION: Apply Halo SV Anti-slip in an ambient temperature between 7-40 degrees Celsius, 90% RH or less, and, if applying outdoors make sure that there will be no rain or dew for 5 hours after completing the coating process. Product Description Halo SV Anti-slip is a clear thin protective coat containing mesh beads for concrete, masonry and tiled floors. It has been formulated using the principles of Halo Matrix-Nano™ controlled chemical nanotechnology and is peel and flake resistant. It can be applied over Halo SV Enhancer Plus Sealer to provide an anti-slip coating system that is easy and quick to apply and cost-effective. Use on these substrates Concrete and masonry floors, masonry pavers, tiles, bricks and cement blocks. Solve these problems Halo SV Anti-slip protects against moisture and chloride ion penetration, food and beverage acids, bird and animal waste matter, salt-spray, gum and graffiti. It also provides protection against falling or slipping on slippery surfaces. Wind may affect the quality of the finish and it may be necessary to erect a wind- shield. THOROUGHLY STIR the contents of the container for several minutes (or shake it thoroughly if the container is small) Re-stir or re-shake the container every 15-20 minutes to ensure the nano particles remain suspended. Add 320 mesh glass beads supplied separately to Halo SV Anti-slip at a ratio of 100 grams of beads per litre of coating. A more even finish will be achieved by spraying the coating. Keep stirring the mixture to ensure the beads do not clump together. Halo SV Anti-slip may be sprayed or rolled. Spraying: Use a portable alcohol and acetone-proof sprayer with a grey or red tip or an HVLP spray gun with a 1.0 size tip and the pressure set at approximately 25 psi. Spray test-patterns until you achieve an elongated pattern 20-25 cm long and 5 cm wide in the middle with sufficient fluid to cover but not to puddle. Work with a waste bucket so that you start and finish your spraying in the bucket and avoid drips on the surface being coated. Hold the tip of the HVLP gun or pump-sprayer 20-25 cm square from the surface. Apply one coat in a cross-hatch or circular pattern to provide sufficient coverage without holes. Rolling: Use an ultra-smooth high-density foam roller and apply Halo SV Anti-slip as quickly as possible in a cross-hatch pattern always keeping a wet edge. Make sure the roller is saturated at all times but do not press down on the roller or over- work the coating. A second coat: Do not apply a second coat unless there is a flaw in the application of the first coat. In that case, wait 24 hours, and then sand the surface to 220 grit, clean and reapply. Keep the lid on the tin to stop evaporation. Sales and support +64 9 376 7099 | office@halosurfaces.com.Halo Surfaces International Limited
  • 3. Halo SV Anti-slip gained an average of .59 when tested by the wet pendulum method in New Zealand. The building code requires a .4. Halo SV Anti-slip is a gloss finish Glass beads may only be added to Halo SV gloss finishes not satin. Drying time At 21 degrees Celsius 50% RH: Touch dry 2 hours; dry through 2-6 hours; walk on 10 – 12 hours; full cure 7 days. Interruption of Work As treated and untreated surfaces look similar, finish work on an obvious point such as a corner or mark where you have stopped. Cleaning Up Clean tools and equipment immediately with acetone. Care and Maintenance Clean with a mop and Halo Multi-purpose Cleaner then rinse with fresh water. On a large commercial floor use a floor-cleaning machine in wash-mode using Halo Multi- purpose Cleaner as the cleaning agent. A soft non-abrasive pad may be used to buff the floor for a shiny finish. If Halo SV Anti-slip is damaged, lightly sand the coating to 220 grit and reapply.
