TOPIC: SOCIAL MEDIA’S POWER
OBJECTIVE: By the end of the lesson, SS will be able to talk about possibilities
Grammar:
✔ USE to talk about what is possible
✔ New: modal verb CAN and CAN’T
Recycled: verb to-be, simple present, active and passive voice, should and shouldn’t, must and mustn’t.
Vocabulary:
New: names, verbs, countries, modal verbs, numbers.
Recycled: regular verbs- irregular verbs, members of the family, pronouns, adverbs.
Material /Resources: Blackboard, chalks, copies, colorful cardboards, copies, pictures, boxes.

1 20’ At the beginning of the class, T greets the
SS. After that T will stick on the blackboard
some pictures of random teenager’s profiles,
then T will write a short funny description of
each person, regarding personality. Then, T
will ask SS if she or he can or can’t accept
his friend request taking into account the
whole information given.
T gives possible scenarios
for SS in a social network,
then, T introduces the
structure “yes, I can accept
it” and “no, can’t accept it”
and SS will have to choose
one of them.

2 20’ T introduce a colorful poster with many
examples of the modal verbs studied so far.
Then, T will stick the poster on the wall and
ask SS to mimic them all together.
Eventually, T will stick on the blackboard a
comparative chart full of examples of people
talking about their abilities versus
possibilities using social networks, T will ask
some SS to read them. Later, T will write on
the blackboard “SOCIAL MEDIA’S POWER”

30’ T gives SS a worksheet about the SOCIAL
MEDIA. After that, T reads a text out loud
and asks for a volunteer to continue. In the
worksheet there are 3 activities, the first one
is a true or false activity. The second one is
a fill-in the blanks activity using the
affirmative and negative form of the verb.
Eventually, T asks SS to read their answers.
In the first activity SS need to
read a text and say if the
statements are TRUE or
FALSE. In the second
activity they will complete the
sentences using CAN or
CAN’T .

5 20’ T explains the last activity SS have to use
the phrases given. Each one corresponds to
one sentence related to possibilities.

CAN, T initiates a game named “WHO CAN
I BE NOW?” T makes 4 groups and gives

How can you make money on social media?
You can make as much money as you want on social media. With some time and effort, and the right social media marketing strategy. But
you cannot receive money for doing literally nothing and there is no single social media platform which pays the most. The amount you earn
depends on your approach and the quality of your followers. You can make money on social media with less than 1,000 followers. Generally
speaking, the more followers you have, the more money you can make. But there are exceptions to this rule. All social media platforms are
great for making money. You can sell products directly on Instagram and Facebook. Finally, you can make partner with brands and creators
on any platform you can imagine.
