  2. 2. TITLE OF THE ACTIVITY: New student at school LEVEL OF THE ACTIVITY: Segundo ciclo de la ESO, Bachillerato. Adaptable. MATERIALS: Papel y lápiz. OBJECTIVES: Reactivar conocimiento previo, practicar la expresión escrita. PROCEDURE: Los alumnos tienen que escribir una pequeña introducción sobre un estudiante ficticio que entra en su clase. Todos empezarán por “This is *insert name here*. He/She comes from… His/Her dreams for the future are… This year, he/she is going to…”. Tendrán un tiempo limitado para terminar el párrafo. Pueden escribir tanto como quieran, y echarle imaginación. Al final del tiempo, se leen algunos párrafos en voz alta y se corrigen algunos fallos. Para la segunda parte del ejercicio, cada alumno hará una foto al párrafo de su compañero, y continuará su propia historia haciendo que su personaje conozca al de su compañero: “The first day of school, he/she met … and they…”.   3. 3. TITLE OF THE ACTIVITY: Mi Acróstico LEVEL OF THE ACTIVITY: Primer ciclo de la ESO, adaptable. MATERIALS: Papel y lápiz. OBJECTIVES: Reactivar conocimiento previo, especialmente adjetivos. PROCEDURE: Los alumnos escriben un acróstico, escribirán un adjetivo que les defina que empiece por cada una de las letras de su nombre, por ejemplo: Creative Outstanding Radiant Able. Como follow-up, los alumnos pueden buscar los antónimos de sus adjetivos. En niveles más altos, pueden escribir una frase para cada letra para formar un poema que les defina.   4. 4. TITLE OF THE ACTIVITY: Conecta frases (AND BUT BECAUSE) LEVEL OF THE ACTIVITY: Segundo ciclo de la ESO, Bachillerato, adaptable. MATERIALS: Papel y lápiz, aunque se puede aprovechar la actividad para hacer murales con el resultado de la actividad. OBJECTIVES: Repasar alternativas a los conectores básicos. Practicar la escritura. Practicar la lectura en voz alta. Practicar la comprensión oral. Utilizar el feedback entre iguales para fomentar la autoestima y la capacidad de concentración. PROCEDURE: Se divide la clase en tres grupos: AND, BUT y BECAUSE. Cada grupo tiene un tiempo determinado para escribir todas las frases que pueda con una ALTERNATIVA distinta a su conector, por ejemplo, el grupo AND podrá crear una frase con AS WELL AS, otra con MOREOVER, etc. Al final del tiempo, cada grupo lee sus frases una a una. Si es correcta, el grupo se lleva un punto. Si es incorrecta, los otros grupos pueden corregirla para ganar un punto. El grupo con más puntos acumulados, gana. Si se han utilizado cartulinas o papel de colores, se pueden escribir las frases en grande con el conector en un color que resalte y dejarlos en la pared a modo de murales. Esta actividad se puede adaptar a cualquier nivel y para repasar cualquier aspecto que se esté tratando en clase. CUENTA: @theyellowtilepath

TITLE OF THE ACTIVITY Keeping safe and sound in class LEVEL OF THE ACTIVITY Primary – Secondary Education MATERIALS: Pencil, Computer, Dictionary, Imagination OBJECTIVES: To make our students aware of those measures to face current situation with Covid-19. PROCEDURE: 1. Firstly, students will have to talk about the procedures they have followed over these last months to face the virus. 2. Then, a poster will be handed to groups of 4 / 5 students, they will have to figure out what each picture can mean. 3. Afterwards, they will have to establish 4 more measures to be careful against Covid-19. 4. Finally, all the students will have to talk about what images can mean and also to put in common the other ideas they have reached in their teams. CUENTA @missgarcia_27
  8. 8. TITLE OF THE ACTIVITY Guess who! LEVEL OF THE ACTIVITY : 1st CSE MATERIALS: a piece of paper for the teacher or the teacher’s assistant. OBJECTIVES: • Students will be able to know more about their classmates’ likes and dislikes. It is a great way to break the ice, since it could be the first time they meet each other. • Student will learn a great variety of vocabulary. • Students will start training their memory ability. PROCEDURE: First of all, students must introduce themselves aloud and say something they like or dislike, for example, “My name is Anna and I like K-Pop” or “My name is Michael and I don’t like fish and chips”. Meanwhile, the teacher or the teacher’s assistant (chosen with a choosing rhyme) would be writing what each student is saying. Afterwards, a volunteer or a student chosen with a choosing rhyme must stand up in front of the classroom, in addition to the rest of students who would remain next to their seats. The teacher or teacher’s assistant must choose a topic and say it aloud, so that the volunteer can guess or try to remember who had said that. The questions that he/she should be asking are: “is she a girl/is he a boy?”, “is he/she wearing jeans?”, etc. Students must seat if they do not coincide with the description. TITLE OF THE ACTIVITY Time capsule LEVEL OF THE ACTIVITY 1st -4th Secondary Education MATERIALS: Handout or copy from the board OBJECTIVES: Students will be able to reflect on their likes and preferences by creating a class time capsule PROCEDURE: • Ask students to share all their ideas about a time capsule and write them on the board. •Tell students a time capsule is a container that holds things from the present that they will open in the future. Tell them that when they open it at the end of the school year, they will have a chance to look back at their likes and preferences and see how they have changed. •Tell them to write about their favourites in September. •Put their answers in a box and keep it closed until June. To make use of technologies. PROCEDURE: This activity can be done in several different ways. 1. You can print the QR codes. 2. You can show them on the digital boards. 3. TITLE OF THE ACTIVITY CLASS RULES-GOOD M AN N ERS LEVEL OF THE ACTIVITY Primary - Secondary MATERIALS: -Posters with rules - (according to age) OBJECTIVES: -to learn, practise or review action verbs -to foster debate -to promote drama techniques -to foster thinking skills PROCEDURE: This activity gets the students to learn or practise actions verbs and fosters them to discuss when and why we should all follow these rules. -Display the posters. -Ask the students to read the rules (aloud) -Choose one and mime the action to the students. They should guess the rule . The student who guesses it should come up and do the same; and so on until all the rules are mentioned. -FOLLOW-UP : -Foster the students to debate why we should follow these rules and what can happen if we do not do it. TITLE OF THE ACTIVITY PICTIONARY -EM O JI S LEVEL OF THE ACTIVITY Primary - Secondary MATERIALS: -Posters -markers -white board or pieces of scratch paper OBJECTIVES: -to learn, practise or review vocabulary (feelings-moods) -to foster social skills(turn taking- keeping score) -to promote rule following -to have fun PROCEDURE: This activity gets the students to learn or practise vocabulary -Divide the class into two groups. -Dreaw a scorebox to keep track of the points. -Ask one member of a group to come up to play. -Whisper a word from the list. -The student turns to his group and draws an emoji or picture odf the word. PHRASAL VERBS DICTOGLOSS LEVEL OF THE ACTIVITY 1º-2º Bach MATERIALS: ONE SHEET PER STUDENT OBJECTIVES: Phrasal verbs revisión Using oral language PROCEDURE: Give one copy of the paper to each student/ display on screen 1. Explain the different verbs, by giving clues to student (in my case we studied these verbs in 4º ESO) 2. The student draws her/his first school day by taking into account some of the verbs (taking into account level+ creativity maybe 5,6,7) 3. Brainstorming: link the icons with the adjectives (they were taught in my case, in 2º ESO) 2. Draw your ideal teacher, using 7 adjectives. Elicit students to use also negative adjectives to make it fun! Apart from that, give reasons with AS- SINCE-BECAUSE 3. This actividy can be done in both digital and paper versions. - Students draw their superhero and write an original text composed by two paragraphs similar to the sample one: Paragraph one: they describe themselves. Paragraph two: they describe their superhero. - Students present their ideal superhero to the rest of the class and they decide what superhero is the most original one! Each of the students needs to have a piece of paper as the following. - We explain students that this BINGO consists on fill in all the gaps with their mates’ names withough repeating none. The winner will be the first person who reaches this objective. - When the activity starts, students have to move around and ask their mates the questions given. PROCEDURE: Introduce the activity to our students, tell them you both are about to fill in a passport in order to enroll in this school year.
