The idea for Paul came about when Peg and Frost were touring America looking for
inspiration for the film Shaun of the Dead. The film was given the green lit before the 2008
recession, it is said that the film wouldn’t have been made if it was in the pre-production
stage during the start of the economic downturn. The budget for the film was roughly $40
million US dollars.
Filming of the film finished in July 2010.
The teaser trailer was released on October 8th2010; the world premier for the film was in
London on the 7th of February 2011. The film was released on DVD in the UK on the 13 June
2011 and was released in America on the 9th of august 2011
the film grossed $60,571,070 international, with a total of $97,984,015 worldwide.
