Concept Solutions
DWTH gathers Danish water companies in con-
sortium groups to deliver smarter and more ef-
ficient water solutions for Southeast Asia.
In Denmark water professionals have been
working together closely for over 40 years to
solve water challenges. From the 1970s on-
wards, very strict and ambitious regulation of
water management and discharge permits were
introduced. This forced the water sector to
share knowledge and innovate in order to meet
the new regulatory conditions. As a result, Dan-
ish water companies offer some of the world’s
most efficient and advanced water technolo-
gies today.
Our portfolio is completed by a wide range of
services in engineering, consulting, construc-
tion and maintenance and over 15 different
concept solutions, each of them representing a
strong set-up of Danish technologies.
Delivered to Southeast Asia by consortium groups via DWTH
In the following pages,
we present three of our
concept solutions:
Non-revenue Water Management
Groundwater Mapping
Aquaculture
Our solutions
improve operational
efficiency, cut
energy costs and
leakage rates.
Non-revenue Water Management
Lost water in distribution systems is a challenge world-
wide. The World Bank estimates that over USD14 billion
worth of potable water is lost every year through leaks,
theft and unbilled usage what is referred to as non-
revenue water (NRW). In less developed countries, NRW
can touch 40-60% or more. In Denmark, utilities have
average water losses of 7% with best performers down
to as low as 2%. Achieving low NRW levels require wa-
ter utilities to implement a range of leakage monitoring
technologies and leakage management systems. DWTH
companies have a deep understanding
of local water distribution networks
and many years of experience in im-
plementing water network solutions
throughout Southeast Asia including
monitoring, control and pressure man-
agement.
By combining our technologies and
expertise, we are able to deliver the
best possible solutions for our custom-
ers. For optimized performance, solu-
tions are tailored to the needs of the
client and local conditions, involving
collecting and organizing data, draw-
ing up NRW master plans and training
local partners in NRW management,
GIS, fieldwork and hydraulic engineer-
ing. An integrated part of our working
procedure is following the IWA meth-
odology.

Acquiring and compiling accurate data about groundwater
is required to properly manage the resource and ensuring
long-term sustainable growth. A break-through Danish
technology, SkyTEM, was designed to deliver highly ac-
curate data.
In the 1990s, the Danish academic and scientific com-
munity joined other institutions and professionals from
the world of geophysics to develop
an airborne geophysical system that
was sensitive enough to detect subtle
changes with a high degree of accu-
racy. The technological breakthrough
arising from that work is the SkyTEM
method.
SkyTEM is a time-domain airborne
geophysical system that is capable of
delivering accurate high-resolution
maps of changes in geology from the
very near surface to depths of hun-
dreds of meters.
The SkyTEM method has been applied
for groundwater studies worldwide
from mapping aquifers in the Galapa-
gos Islands to identifying ice and wa-
ter distribution beneath Antarctica.
8
Groundwater Mapping
As the world increasingly consumes water resources, management of these re-
sources requires appropriate, reliable and timely information to ensure water is
available when and where it is needed.
The control of feeding, water quality and fish health is
vital in fish farming. Water quality is closely monitored by
advanced technologies to secure ideal living conditions
for optimal and efficient fish growth.
DWTH aquaculture companies are in the forefront of re-
search and development delivering state-of-the-art re-
circulation systems with minimal impact on the environ-
ment.
Our recirculation systems maximize water re-use by re-
moving sludge and nitrification, introducing filtration, gas
balancing while improving aeration. Disinfection facilities
can also be added. The process of recirculation will re-
duce the water intake up to 99%, which will protect the
fish crop from incoming diseases, improve the production
water quality and reduce the impact from discharge of
wastewater to the recipient.
Research has shown that many fishponds in Southeast
Asia have limited oxygen supply, and
therefore, implementing our efficient
aeration technologies help your stock
in having a better health, making them
more resistant to diseases, hereby in-
creasing your production dramatically.
Aquaculture
Adapt to our aquaculture technologies and you’ll harvest increases in pro-
duction, sustainability and food security.

SkyTEM is an innovative and technologically ad-
vanced airborne geophysical system specifically
designed to map aquifers. This unique technol-
ogy, capable of mapping the top 500 metres of
the Earth in fine detail and in 3 dimensions, was
conceived and developed in Denmark.
SkyTEM has helped geological organizations
and government water agencies on five conti-
nents unearth a wealth of information about
their aquifers and aided in their understand-
ing of how these resources can be affected by
human activity and climate changes. Since its
launch in 2003 SkyTEM has also been employed
globally for resource exploration as well as for
environmental and engineering investigations.
Technology
SkyTEM is the only system capable of ener-
gizing the ground in dual-moment mode. This
unique feature provides shallow imaging con-
currently with penetration of the ground for
deep imaging.
The SkyTEM receiver is null-coupled to elimi-
nate noise from the primary field improving
discrimination between subtle changes in re-
sistivity from the near-surface and to greater
depths. The system is light weight, operator-
less and easily configured to operate at a range
of base frequencies and delay times to optimize
for a range of geological mapping objectives.
