Who thinks they know what all of these mean/stand for and what makes them different from one another?
Highschools.com is different from highschools.net and highschools.org
ALL website addresses start with http://; not all start with www. Just write the name of the website, unless .com is in the legal name i.e. facebook, not facebook.com and Amazon.com not Amazon When a story prominently mentions a specific website or Web service, include within the text the full Internet address with http:// and set it off with commas
Think of it this way: Every website is hosted on a server. So, to access that website, you must access the server. The server translates the icky, long IP address into an easier-to-remember domain name.
