CEDIA University certification ensures proficiency in home technology fields
RICHMOND, VA (May 2, 2006) — NSN has completed extensive training and successfully
passed a rigorous examination process to earn professional certification from CEDIA University
and the Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA).
CEDIA and its 3,000 member companies around the world specialize in the design and
installation of home networks, home automation and communications systems, theater rooms,
and whole-house entertainment systems. The foremost experts in the residential electronic
systems industry teach CEDIA University’s world-class education programs. Its certification
exams are notoriously difficult to pass and only about 50 percent of the people who sit for the
exam actually pass it and receive certification.
As a CEDIA-Certified professional contractor, NSN has a competitive advantage through a
proven commitment to higher quality, productivity, and professionalism.
“Consumers who choose CEDIA-Certified contractors for their home technology design and
installation are working with the best in the business,” said Andy Willcox, president of CEDIA.
“CEDIA certification stands for a higher standard of excellence with the knowledge and skills to
exceed expectations and deliver solutions that enhance the consumers’ lifestyle.”
CEDIA University is an institution of learning that provides facilities for teaching and education
and furthers the knowledge and professional skills of members and students in the custom
electronics and installation industry. Its mission focuses on helping business owners and their
employees prepare for certifications and advance their careers.
NSN is a home technology company with a 10-year history of integrating electronic
systems for homebuilders and their customers. From its headquarters in Henrico
County, NSN’s 27 employees serve builders in 12 Central Virginia Counties. With a
2. leading position in the Richmond marketplace, NSN is a prime resource for low-voltage
wiring, security, communication, entertainment, and home automation systems.
CEDIA is an international trade association of companies that specialize in designing and
installing electronic systems for the home. The association was founded in September 1989 and
has more than 3,000 member companies worldwide. CEDIA Members are established and
insured businesses with bona fide qualifications and experience in this specialized field. CEDIA
Members include residential electronic systems contractors who have emerged as the “fourth

professionals. For more information on CEDIA, visit the association’s Web site at
