world. It is a network of many
3D virtual worlds. It focuses on
social/media connection.
4. Purpose
The purpose of the metaverse
is to have a place where, tech,
businesses and finances can
happen in a virtual type of
world that is accessible for
everyone.
5. Background Information
The term “Metaverse” has been around for years,
but it hasn’t been spoken about too much till
recently. The Metaverse is a continuum. It is a
huge spectrum of digitally enhanced worlds.
These worlds consist of businesses and different
realities. This will allow people in real time and life
to do many different things.
6. Importance
The big importance about the metaverse is that it
creates places for people to do real life things, but
it goes beyond that. This allows people with
disabilities and illness who can't leave their
homes, beds, hospitals, etc. to be able to do
everyday things and still be UpToDate with all the
new business, technology, and financial news.
7. Issues
With the metaverse being open to about everyone and
anything can happen inside. This doesn’t regulate the same
“laws” we have outside of VR. Such as crime and misconduct.
According to Nitin Kumar (2022), “The risk of physical trauma
may be limited, but users could be mentally scarred.”
Since the metaverse is a new and exciting thing, it also comes
with creating legal regulatory and technical “laws.”
9. Benefits
Johnson states (2022),
“Overcoming obstacles e.g. disabilities.
Enhancing creativity and imagination.
Traveling the world without moving.
Increasing technological literacy and skills.
Connecting with new people without feeling awkward.
Creating completely new job opportunities.
Meeting your loved ones whenever you want.
More possibilities in education.
Giving opportunities for self expressions.”
10. Conclusion
Even though the metaverse is still
new, it is the future of digital. It does
need some revision to the legal
terms and how it operates, but this
will give people such a new look on
digital and it gives people a new
world.
