AN OVERVIEW
The residential, commercial and industrial estate of Phakalane
broke ground just over a quarter of a century ago (25 years).
Today according to the population census of 2011 has for
Phakalane confirms over 7000 residents. Due to the phenomenal
growth of the suburb the infrastructure has needed upgrading
to keep in line with Phakalane’s world class standards.
Phakalane Estates has recently concluded negotiations with
the Government of Botswana for the upgrades of the existing
infrastructure in Phakalane.
After signing the relevant agreements towards the end of 2013,
Phakalane embarked on the tender process and awarded
the contract for works involving upgrading of the existing
infrastructure both Sewerage and Power.
The completion date for both these projects will be February
2015. All these contracts are being undertaken in collaboration
with the Ministry of Lands and Housing, Water Utilities
Corporation and Botswana Power Corporation.
