OUR VISION
At The Bridgeway Group, we help our clients
make informed decisions with their money.
The Bridgeway Group is a full service wealth
management firm that liberates successful people and
families from the day to day worries of managing and
monitoring their assets, which allows them to focus
on what is most important. Through a collaborative
process, we create a customized financial plan
designed to bridge the gap between preserving wealth
and preparing for the future.
Our wealth management process allows us to
understand not just their financial goals and
challenges, but who our clients truly are as people,
including their most important values and
motivations. Along with our professional network, we
identify the concerns they have about achieving all the
things that are important to them and formulate
recommendations that will maximize the probability
that they are able to achieve those things.

OUR KEY BUSINESS PRINCIPLES
At The Bridgeway Group, we entirely believe in
the power of individual choice. After all, it was
that same power that founded our firm!
When you go to a financial professional with a famous
Wall Street name, you don’t necessarily get that
choice. Although many big-name firms offer quality
investment products, the ones that a financial
professional can offer may be chosen by people who
don’t know you. These firms also may impose sales
quotas on the financial professional helping you. In
other words, your investment choices may be limited
choices, and there may be hidden agendas. We don’t
think that’s the right way to do business.
Here’s what we think is the right way to do business:
• Care for our clients in the way we’d want for
ourselves. We founded The Bridgeway Group to
be the kind of place where we’d want to be clients,
if we didn’t already work here! We treat our clients
the way they want to be treated: respected,
informed, and heard. We don’t expect our clients
to demand any less.
• Know our clients and their goals. We
understand that investing is more than just a
numbers game. There’s emotion involved as well.
People assign different values to money and
approach investing for many reasons. The so-called
best investments aren’t necessarily the best for
everyone. When we first get to know each other,
we’ll ask you a lot of questions so that we can learn
about you as a person, and we’ll tailor your
investments and wealth management plan
accordingly. We want to be just as excited about
your dreams as you are.
• Treat clients like people, not like portfolio
balances. One thing you’ll notice about our firm is
that we’re friendly. Down to earth. Good listeners.
Having been in the business a long time, we’ve
encountered this mix of attitudes—and a whole lot
of market cycles (both good and bad!). We’ve got a
lot of perspective that can help to guide and
reassure you through the ups and downs.
• Empower clients to feel confident about their
decisions. You don’t have to know the difference
between a REIT and a UIT when you come to see
us. We’re happy to explain it to you if you’re
curious. If you’re not, that’s okay, too. Some clients
want to take more of a hands-on role in the
investment process; others want nothing to do
with it. Either way, our goal is to make sure you
sleep easily at night, secure in the knowledge that
your money is working effectively for you.
• Practice time-tested financial approaches. At
The Bridgeway Group, we follow prudent
financial principles. We treat your money
responsibly and objectively. As your needs or
financial picture changes, we’ll work with you to
adjust your course of action accordingly. We
monitor your portfolio’s performance so you don’t
have to worry.

THE ROLE OF THE WEALTH MANAGER
To ensure that your family’s most important
financial issues are addressed as needed, we
serve as your personal chief financial officer.
As your personal chief financial officer, we perform a
diagnostic report of your current situation with our
recommendations for repositioning your portfolio to
help maximize your probability of success. Your
customized investment plan centers around five steps:
1. Assess your goals and circumstances.
2. Set long-term investment objectives.
3. Plan your asset allocation.
4. Select your investment approach.
5. Build your portfolio.
The best investment plan for you depends on your
specific circumstances and objectives, which is why we
began the investment planning process with the
discussion of what is most important to you during
our discovery meeting. We set the foundation of your
financial house through the investment plan. Once
this is in place, we address additional components of
your financial picture as needed, including working
with your other advisors to ensure that you remain on
track to achieve your goals.

4
DEFINING THE WEALTH MANAGEMENT PROCESS
No two investors are alike. Each has different
circumstances and aspires to different dreams. As
wealth managers, we can meet your needs well only
when we know you and your unique life situation
well. At The Bridgeway Group, we use the following
systematic consulting process for uncovering
your most important goals and for designing and
implementing appropriate solutions.
1. Discovery meeting. At our initial meeting, we
conduct a discovery interview. This helps us
identify the challenges you face in achieving
all that is important to you. We examine your
current situation, the goals you would like
to achieve, and how we can maximize the
possibility of achieving those goals.
2. Investment plan meeting. At this meeting,
we present our diagnostic of your current
situation and our recommendations for how
we can bridge the gaps in order for you
to reach your goals. This plan forms the
foundation for all of our work together.
3. Mutual commitment meeting. At this
meeting, we are ready to make a mutual
decision about whether our firm can add
substantial value and whether we should
proceed. Should we both choose to work
together, we commit to each other to work
toward achieving everything that is important
to you and your family. We also execute the
documents necessary to put your investment
plan into motion.
4. 45-day follow-up meeting. When you have
multiple investment accounts, it’s easy to
become overwhelmed with the amount of
paperwork you receive. At this meeting, we
help you organize all that paperwork in a
binder that we provide. We also answer any
questions you may have so that you understand
exactly what is happening with your money.
Regular Progress Meetings
These meetings, which we schedule at intervals
convenient to you, provide us an opportunity to
review any major changes in your personal or financial
situation since our last meeting. If these changes mean
that we need to make adjustments to your investment
plan, we do so. We also review your overall progress
toward your long-term financial goals. This meeting is
also our opportunity to implement advanced planning
recommendations that may be appropriate for your
situation. We will present to you our advanced plan
at our first regular progress meeting so that we can
prioritize those areas of greatest importance to you
and then begin to address them systematically.

HOW DOES THE BRIDGEWAY GROUP ADD VALUE?
With so many professionals, corporations, and
even websites offering investment advice, it’s
easy to get confused by the array of services,
products, and plans. Prospective clients often ask
us,“Where do you add value? What distinguishes
you from the pack?”What follows is a brief
response designed to assure you that partnering
with our firm could be among the wisest decisions
you ever make.
There are literally hundreds of thousands of people in
the field of financial services who act as investment
advisors, managing a client’s portfolio for a fee or
earning commissions on trades. But few of them ever
consider doing anything beyond investments. We
believe that we can offer superior investment guidance
while providing something more—comprehensive
wealth management.
At The Bridgeway Group comprehensive wealth
management includes implementing the following
techniques to help our clients reach their financial
goals and make better decisions with their money.
1. Suitable Asset Allocation – 91% of
investment returns are attributed to
asset allocation.
2. Low Cost Solutions – implementing cost
effective strategies has a direct impact on the
success of a plan.
3. Portfolio Rebalancing - minimizes risks
and keeps the portfolio aligned with its
original objectives.
4. Behavioral Coaching – an individual’s
approach to money is often very emotional and
can easily lead one into fruitless endeavors;
selling low, chasing performance or just making
overall bad decisions in the heat of the
moment. Through an open and trusting
relationship we can add focus, discipline
and guidance.
5. Asset Location – minimize your taxes by
properly placing your assets into the
appropriate account.
6. Spending Strategy – when the time comes to
live off of your assets, the proper order of taking
money from your accounts can increase the
longevity of your assets and reduce the taxation
of the distribution.
7. Total-Return – in today’s world an “income-
only” approach is not viable. Instead, using a
total return approach that incorporates income
and capital appreciation offers less risk, better
tax efficiency and longevity to your assets.
We look at comprehensive wealth management as a
dynamic and ongoing process that lasts throughout
your life. When we need outside expertise we rely on
our partnerships with CPAs, attorneys, and other
professionals dedicated to working as a team to meet
all aspects of our clients’ needs.
Most important—what separates our firm from the
others—are the relationships we develop with our
clients. We built our firm based on the fundamental
elements of mutual trust, honesty, and respect, which
helps us deliver the best client experience possible.
Asset allocation programs do not assure a profit or protect
against loss in declining markets. No program can guarantee
that any objective or goal will be achieved.

Working with a team that redefines
wealth management
Ask ten investors to define wealth management.
Actually, ask ten “wealth managers” to do so. You’ll
almost definitely get ten different answers, and most
are likely to be heavily focused on investing. As a
client of The Bridgeway Group, however, you benefit
from a cutting-edge team that has a clear and
comprehensive vision of wealth management.
Our consultative process
We approach each new engagement with a time-
tested, collaborative process. This allows us to have an
open dialogue in which we learn about your values
and goals while working with you to tailor a plan to
help meet them. As a valued client, you can offer a
portion of our services, complimentary, to your
friends, family and associates.
What to expect from the Second Opinion Service
We will meet with your friends, family and associates
for a discovery meeting and then invite them back for
a wealth management plan meeting. Hopefully, we can
confirm they’re on track to meet their values and goals.
If needed, we’ll suggest ways in which we can help,
including recommending someone else if we’re not a
good fit for their needs.
Either way, they’ll receive both a Total Client Profile
and personalized analysis of their current situation.

INTRODUCTION TO COMMONWEALTH
Commonwealth Financial Network® was founded
to serve as the home office for investment
professionals committed to providing unbiased
financial guidance to their clients.
Unlike traditional Wall Street firms, Commonwealth
does not produce or market any proprietary investment
products, nor does it impose any sales quotas on its
affiliated advisors. Accordingly, its national network of
independent financial professionals is unique in its
ability to make your needs the only motivating
force—and that is the way it should be.
As Commonwealth advisors, we are provided access to
all national exchanges, as well as to a full range of
quality investment products and services. After
working to understand your risk tolerance, personal
values, and time horizons, we can recommend a
suitable combination of:
•• Mutual funds
•• Full-service stock and bond trading
•• Unit investment trusts
•• Real estate investment trusts (REITs)
•• Fixed and variable annuities
•• Life insurance
•• Managed investment programs
•• Limited partnerships
•• CDs and money market accounts
•• Retirement plans
Commonwealth’s goal is to ensure that we are able to
direct the maximum amount of energy possible
toward our role as financial caregivers. It makes this
feasible by supporting us with:
Technology
Commonwealth’s continual investment in leading-edge
systems strives to provide superior account processing
and management, as well as access to critical data.
Research
In-house experts at Commonwealth pore over vast
amounts of financial data to offer advisors an
additional perspective on investment decisions.
Professional Education
As Commonwealth advisors, we participate in a rich
curriculum of technical seminars and educational
programs reflecting the best practices in the growing
complexity of financial issues.
Account Support
Informed investors enjoy greater personal comfort.
Through consolidated monthly statements, online
account access, and Commonwealth’s Service Center,
we can provide you with all the information you’ll
ever need.
In today’s complex economic environment, the major
difference between making money and keeping
money is knowledge. Investment decisions vital to
your economic security are far too important to be
ignored or left to a machine—or to anyone whose
primary responsibility is not you, the investor.
Commonwealth believes in supplying primary financial
care through independent financial professionals.
Commonwealth Financial Network is a member of the
SIPC, which protects securities customers of its membership
up to $500,000 (including $250,000 for claims for
cash). An explanatory brochure is available on request or
at www.sipc.org.
Unprecedented 10-Time
Broker/Dealer of theYear
Commonwealth is a 10-time
recipient of Investment Advisor
magazine’s prestigious Broker/Dealer
of the Year award, which is based
on various criteria that includes
overall advisor satisfaction (1991,
1992, 1994, 1996–99, 2001,
2002, 2005).
