Tower Bridge in London was constructed between 1886 and 1894. It spans the River Thames and can be raised to allow ships to pass through. The 244 meter long bascule bridge was designed by Sir Horace Jones and operated using steam engines. Big Ben, located in the Palace of Westminster, is the nickname for the great bell of the famous clock tower Elizabeth Tower constructed between 1848 and 1858 in London.
