Since basic concepts are essential to the comprehension of a language, vocabulary and grammatical
structures from Spanish I will be reviewed and recycled on a regular basis. Spanish II expands vocabulary,
grammar and verb use with emphasis on reading, translation and conversation. Spanish II must be taken the
year immediately following Spanish I or instructor approval must be given.
Here is a list of topics that will be covered in class:
1st 9 weeks

vocab:Classroom items, activities,and rules grammar:Affirmatives & Negatives
Ch 1B “¿Qué haces depués de las clases?”
vocab:Extracurricular activities, grammar: The verbs saber and conocer
Ch 2A “¿Comó te preparas?”
vocab: Daily routines, grammar: reflexive verbs, ser and estar
2nd 9 weeks
Ch 2B “¿Qué ropa compraste?”
vocab:shopping vocab, prices, money, grammar: the preterite of reg verbs
Ch 3A “¿Qué hiciste ayer?”
vocab:running errands, grammar:the irregular preterite of verbs: ir,ser,hacer,tener,estar
Ch 3B “¿Cómo se va...?”
vocab:places in a city or town,transport, grammar:D.O pronouns, present progressive
Ch 4A “Cuando éramos niños?
vocab:toys, play terms, grammar: the imperfect tense, I.O pronouns

vocab:visiting an airport, traveling, grammar: the present subjunctive
