Jiecheng Tang establishes a Code of Ethics to guide his engineering work. The code seeks to ensure high quality, reliable services by adhering to standards of ethical conduct. It outlines 15 principles including abiding by laws and regulations, respecting culture and privacy, treating all people fairly without discrimination, respecting intellectual property, associating with reputable organizations, maintaining competence, acting as a faithful agent to employers, considering the environment, rejecting bribery, involving beneficiaries, and making only objective public statements. The code aims to protect public health, safety and welfare through honest, impartial and fair work.

Ethical Principle
Engineering is an important and learned profession. As members of this
profession, engineers are expected to exhibit the highest standards of
honesty and integrity. Engineering has a direct and vital impact on the
quality of life for all people. Accordingly, the services provided by
engineers require honesty, impartiality, fairness, and equity, and must be
dedicated to the protection of the public health, safety, and welfare.
Engineers must perform under a standard of professional behaviour that
requires adherence to the highest principles of ethical conduct.

This Code of Conduct seeks to guard my standards of behaviour. This is not about
operational details but aim to ensure that I’m working to standard hence providing high
quality, reliable, accurate and precise products and services.
Framework Statement
1. Shall abide by the local laws and regulations in all activities;
2. Shall respect culture and custom (IFRC);
3. Shall to treat fairly all persons and to not engage in acts of discrimination based on race,
religion, gender, disability, age, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, or
gender expression (IEEE);
4. Shall respect the proprietary information and intellectual property rights of others,
including charitable organizations and professional societies in the engineering field
(ASME);
5. Shall avoid snooping customers’ and clients’ privacy;
6. Shall associate only with reputable persons or organizations (ASME);
7. Shall avoid deceptive acts and avoid injuring others, their property, reputation, or
employment by false or malicious action (IEEE);
8. Shall perform services only in areas of my competence (NSPE); to maintain and improve
my technical competence and to undertake technological tasks for others only if qualified
by training or experience, or after full disclosure of pertinent limitations (IEEE);
9. Shall continue my professional development throughout my careers and shall provide
opportunities for the professional and ethical development of those engineers under their
supervision (ASME);
10. Shall act for each employer or client as faithful agents or trustees (NSPE);
11. Shall consider environmental impact and sustainable development in the performance of
professional duties (ASME);
