4. Official academic records
• All academic records must be originals or certified copies in a
sealed envelope from the institution. Copies must be certified
(both signed with the seal/ stamp affixed) by a school official.
Notarized copies will not be accepted. In addition, an official
English translation must be provided.
• In order to have credit transferred:
o A course by course evaluation must be done by an accredited
evaluation service. We recommend World Education Services
(WES)
o Plus, course descriptions in English must be submitted for each
course intended to transfer.

5. English proficiency proven by ONE of the following:
Official TOEFL score report (61 IBT, 500 Paper, 173 CBT)
Official IELTS score report (5.5 or above)
ACT/ SAT score report card
• ACT must be 19+ in both English Language and Reading
• SAT must be 470+ in both Writing and Critical Reading
Completion of ELS Level 12
Transfer students from a U.S. institution can show proof of
completing English I and II with a grade of “C” or above.

10. Waiting for Response
Please allow time for our office to review your
application material.
Depending on how the application documents were
sent to our office. It will take up to 5 days for us to
review your application.

12. Acceptance
Once we have reviewed your admissions materials and
find that you have met all of our requirements. We will
issue you an acceptance letter and an I-20.

13. Conditional Acceptance
Being conditionally accepted means you are accepted to UAFS
on the condition of being able to complete the certain
requirement(s) stated.
For example, you can be accepted on the condition that you
complete high school.
If you are conditionally accepted, we will not issue you an I-20.
Once you fulfill the condition, we will issue an I-20 and
acceptance letter.

14. Once you have been accepted,
we will confirm your address
in order to mail you the acceptance letter and I-20.

15. Step 4: Apply for Student Visa
When applying for your student visa, remember to take
your I-20 and acceptance letter from UAFS with you.

16. Step 5: Entrance Travel Form
Once you have been approved for your student visa.
We ask that you please fill out the Entrance Travel
Form. This allows us to know what flight you are on
and when you are arriving to the US.
