1. John 3:3 Born Again
3 Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus who was a member of
the Jewish ruling council. 2 He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we
know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform
the signs you are doing if God were not with him.”
3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless
they are born again.[a]”

1. John 3:3 Born Again
4 “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely
they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!”
5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God
unless they are born of water and the Spirit.

C. How Do We Recognize the Church of Christ?
1. He founded the Church through Peter.
Mathew 16:18
Note: The Church of Christ should be founded through Peter not by any other person.
Ex: The PASUGO of the Iglesia ni Cristo dated Nov. 1940 p. 23: “Iisa lamang ang

c. Apostolic Ephesians 2:20
*Note: Paul is telling that the Church of Ephesus is founded upon the foundation of the Apostles and
Prophets and not anybody else.
d. One -John 17:21 Ephesians 4:4-6
*Note: Paul explained the meaning of oneness told by Christ. One God, one faith and one Baptism,
the baptism introduced by Christ in John 3:5

D. Eating of Blood

Acts 15:29
2. Jesus’ Declaration Mark 7:14-19
3. Paul’s Declaration Colossians 2:16

*Note: If God forbids the eating of the blood and Jesus declares that all food can be eaten, then the eating of
blood has a deeper meaning.
In order to understand the message of the Bible, the text should be understood in the context where the text
is written.
Ex: The Sabbath as a day of rest. For the Israelites, it is strictly observed. But Jesus Himself worked
during Sabbath. Paul in his letter to the Colossians 2:16 did not specify a day of worship. Images (statues):
Exodus, Leviticus and other texts in the Bible prohibit adoring of images. Images in the Bible would mean
adoring other gods other than the True God. This is the prohibition. Ex. Isaiah 46:1-2.

Numbers 21, 5-9
4The Israelites left Mount Hor by the road that leads to the Gulf of Aqaba, in order to go round
the territory of Edom. But on the way the people lost their patience 5and spoke against God
and Moses. They complained, “Why did you bring us out of Egypt to die in this desert, where
there is no food or water? We can't stand any more of this miserable food!” 6Then the LORD
sent poisonous snakes among the people, and many Israelites were bitten and died. 7The
people came to Moses and said, “We sinned when we spoke against the LORD and against
you. Now pray to the LORD to take these snakes away.” So Moses prayed for the people.
8Then the LORD told Moses to make a metal snake and put it on a pole, so that anyone who
was bitten could look at it and be healed. 9So Moses made a bronze snake and put it on a pole.
Anyone who had been bitten would look at the bronze snake and be healed.

This dramatic scene from the Old Testament (Numbers 21, 5-9) depicts the
moment when Moses saves his people from the snakes sent by God as
punishment for their lack of faith. The bronze serpent on a rod, whose mere
contemplation is sufficient to cure anyone bitten by a snake, symbolizes
salvation
Note: And why did God asked Moses to make a graven image?

Second Commandment: Exodus 20: 1-4
Idolatry is prohibited in many biblical passages, although there is no single
section that contains a complete definition. Rather there are a number of
commandments on this subject spread through the books of the Tanakh, and
taking these passages together, idolatry may be defined as the worship of idols
(or images); the worship of polytheistic gods by use of idols (or images); the
worship of created things (trees, rocks, animals, astronomical bodies, or another
human being); and even the use of idols in the worship of the God of Israel.[29]
Some scholars have proposed that the golden calf made by Aaron (while Moses
was on the mountain receiving the Ten Commandments) was supposed to
represent Yahweh, or perhaps a throne or steed on which the people were to
envision Yahweh.

It is generally held that the Massoretes altered ʾābı̂r ("bull") to ʾabbı̂r ("mighty
one") by changing the pointing (adding a dagesh to the bet), to disguise any
association between Yahweh and a bull.[31] Other suggestions are that the calf
represents some other god, with El, Baal, and particularly the moon god Sin
being proposed.[31] According to Exodus 32:7–8, in a divine speech to Moses,
God reveals the events going on at the base of Mt. Sinai to Moses, judging the
golden calf to be a violation of the recently revealed law: "They have turned
aside quickly from the way that I commanded them".[32] Others point out that
the golden calf episode leads to the breaking of the tablets of the Decalogue,
something that implies that the covenant had been violated. This event and the
plurality of the language used in the second commandment leads many scholars
to conclude that it prohibits the making of any image of Yahweh as well as any
image of a created thing to which divinity would be ascribed.[33]
