THEME: KNOWING THE REAL GOD (PART 7)
TOPIC: GOD IS OMNIPOTENT
In the theme above, the first teaching “THIS IS ETERNAL LIFE” covered six parts. In it we
emphasized that: Eternal life is not a place, but a life given to us by God which grants us the
ability to know Him in Jesus as this knowledge equally makes us like Him. (John 17:3; 1John
5:20) It was also emphasized that nobody in the Old Testament knew the “true” God; knowing
the true nature of God which is “Eternal life” comes through Jesus alone. They did not know
Jesus, did not have eternal life and so did not know God’s true nature.
The first character of God that we are going to examine is His Omnipotence. Before going on, it
must be emphasized that God’s nature in the light of Jesus is different from the light of the Old
Covenant. The reason for this has been explained in the previous teachings, if you have
questions, endeavor to read the previous posts. Jesus said “He that has seen me has seen the
Father” (1John 14:7-10)
WHAT DOES OMNIPOTENCE MEAN?
Omnipotence means God’s ability to do all things. It comes from a Greek word “pantokrator”
meaning “the all ruling, absolute and universal sovereign”. But it is disheartening to know that:
this omnipotence nature of God is one of the most widely misunderstood subject about God by
believers and unbelievers alike. But we believers deserve to know better.
WE MUST FACE THESE QUESTIONS!
Let’s pause and think about these questions sincerely; these questions cross our minds once in
a while, but many times we ignore them religiously or make easy claims:
God can do all things in a second, why didn’t he answer my prayer?
If He can do all things, why has He not stopped all evil?
Why is the world like this, if He is in control of all things?
Why does He let evil happen, He can stop them, why didn’t He?
Why has God not shown every sinner the revelation of hell, so they can all get converted? Is it
because He is not ready or does not care some perished?
Why do the righteous suffer and the wicked prosper and God seem to fold His hands?
We escape some of these questions in our hearts by saying: God’s time is the best, God is
mysterious, God has a good reason for all things. Please, what good reason will God achieve of
hundreds of souls that are daily lost in hell? We have read scriptures like “God rules in the
kingdom of men” (Dan 4:32); “is there anything too hard for me to do? (Jer 32:27); God is in
heavens; He hath done whatever He hath pleased” (Psalm 115:3) All these and many others are
scriptures that silence us.
PAUL’S QUESTION!
We must also consider this question Paul raised:
3. Page 3 of 15
KNOWING THE REAL GOD | God is Omnipotent
…“So how can God blame us for anything since He’s in charge of everything? If the big decisions
are already made, what say do we have in it?” (Rom 9:19 TM)
If God is in charge of everything and everything is according to His plan, those who perish,
those who get rich, those who remain poor, those who go to hell and those who will not, those
who rule and those that do not; then why does He judge us, since He is the One who controlled
all these? Since it was in His plan that Adam fall, why did He judge him after He fell?
In the next teaching, we will continue to deal with these issues and answer these questions
according to scriptures, please stay with us. May the Lord open our eyes and enlighten us in the
knowledge of His will. Amen!
Grace and Peace!

THEME: KNOWING THE REAL GOD (PART 8)
TOPIC: GOD IS OMNIPOTENT
We began the topic above as we discussed how we cover up some hidden questions in our
hearts with assumptions and other scriptures.
WHO RULES THE EARTH?
If there is a problem in a house, the first person we should ask and hold responsible is the lord
of the house. Likewise, since we say God rules the earth and control all things, why should we
not blame Him for everything that goes wrong on earth; if we don’t then we are hypocrites and
unjust. But if we think God could not be responsible for the wars, bareness, earthquakes,
disasters, massacre, and other evil on earth, then we have to re-ask the question of who rules
the earth. Now, let’s go to the beginning.
Gen 1:26: And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: AND LET THEM HAVE
DOMINION …OVER ALL THE EARTH…
My friend! The earth is indeed the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and all that dwell
in it. (Psalm 24:1) But God has giving the ruling of the earth into the hands of man. The Hebrew
word “radah” translated “dominion” means “dominion or reign”. The dictionary defines
“dominion” as “ruling control”. God made the earth and gave its control and lordship into the
hands of men. Amplified version used the phrase “complete authority”.
Psalm 115:16: The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD'S: BUT THE EARTH HATH HE GIVEN
TO THE CHILDREN OF MEN.
God is just! When God gives He gives. It would be unjust for you to say you give a gift to
someone and yet use it again without the person’s knowledge. This is the constraint God has
placed upon Himself and His ability to do all things when it comes to the earth. He has given the
earth to man as long as man lives, when man dies he will surely give account, but as long as he
is alive, the earth is his.
THE “god” AND “prince” OF THIS WORLD
(1John 5:19; 2Cor 4:4; John 12:31; Matthew 4:8-10)
Man! Oh Man! He lost his authority to satan in Eden. Man was given the earth, but man gave
satan control over himself. Man thus gave away his authority, satan is now referred to as the
“prince of the world”, the “ruler of this world” or the “god of the world”. Several scriptures
testifies to this.
Job 9:24: The earth is given into the hand of the wicked...
Luk 4:5-7: And the devil …shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of
time…and said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: FOR THAT IS
DELIVERED UNTO ME; AND TO WHOMSOEVER I WILL I GIVE IT…
5. Page 5 of 15

JESUS-MAN-SATAN
Man delivered the earth to satan by sinning in Eden; but through Jesus, the god of the world
was defeated and brought under the feet of anyone who accepts Jesus. (1Corinthian 2:8) Jesus
said “ALL POWER IS GIVEN TO ME IN HEAVEN AND IN EARTH” HALLELUJAH!!! The truth is: satan
still rules the earth more than God does, because more people are cooperating with him
through the flesh than people are cooperating with God through the spirit; this is why there is
more evil in the world today than there is good. But anyone who accepts Jesus can walk in His
dominion and power in their lives, their family and their sphere of influence. Glory to God!
In the next teaching, we will continue to deal with these issues. Feel free to add your comments
and questions. May God grant us the understanding to enforce His Lordship over every
situation of our lives in Jesus name!
Grace and Peace!

KNOWING THE REAL GOD | God is Omnipotent
THEME: KNOWING THE REAL GOD (PART 9)
TOPIC: GOD IS OMNIPOTENT
Previously, we discussed that God gave the earth to man (Gen 1:26) and by man’s sin, he (man)
delivered the earth to satan (Luke 4:5,7). Jesus then defeated satan and the victory is now to
anyone who accepts Him.
(1John 5:19) We know that we are from God, and that the whole world is under the control of
the evil one. (GW) … the whole world [around us] is under the power of the evil one. (AMP)
…the rest of the world is under the power of the devil. (CEV)
WHY CAN’T GOD MAKE ALL THINGS GOOD?
God is Just! He is not a man that He should lie and eat His words. When God speaks and swears
to His own hurt, He does not go back on His Word. God already gave the earth to man; so it will
be unjust for Him to meddle in the earth’s affair at will. God always needs a man on earth to
cooperate with Him before He can move!
Deuteronomy 7:17: If thou shalt say in thine heart, These nations are more than I; HOW CAN I
DISPOSSESS THEM?
God is speaking here to the Israelites and asked them a rhetorical question. “If you say in your
mind that these nations you want to fight are more powerful than you are; even though I am
Omnipotent, you have made me ‘impotent’ in defeating them for you” We see this throughout
their journey. When they did not believe they can conquer the giants, the sons of Anak, they
couldn’t! Not because God couldn’t but because they couldn’t believe. (Numbers 13:28-33) But
God found a man called Caleb who believed; forty five years after, he and his small tribe
achieved alone what the whole Israel army said they could not achieve (Joshua 14:6-15). Our
faith and confession is what determines if God’s Omnipotence’ power will work on earth and in
our lives or not. There is yet another powerful scripture:
CAN GOD BE LIMITED?
Psalm 78:41: Yea, they turned back and tempted God, AND LIMITED THE HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL.
We all know that our God cannot be limited. He is God who can do anything, anyhow, at any
time. But the Bible says the Israelites limited God. How come? They didn’t limit God Himself
because He remains the same from eternity past to eternity future. What they did is that THEY
LIMITED GOD’S POWER IN THEIR OWN WORLD. How are you limiting God in your own world
today? On earth, men are in control, we are the ones that draw boundaries for God. Man has
the ability to limit God’s goodness and power on earth. So, it is man who answers for the evil
that happens on earth not God. That wrong thing happening in your life is not because God
7. Page 7 of 15

will’s it; it is because you or some other who have authority over you have cooperated
DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY with the devil. That is hard! But if you can believe this, take authority
over your life and quit blaming God, it is sure that your life will see tremendous difference.
In the next teaching, we will continue to deal with more revelations about God’s Omnipotence.
Feel free to add your comments and questions. Our prayer is that God will open your eyes to
see how you are limiting Him in that area of your life and grant you the grace to take authority
over it in Jesus name! We commend you to God’s Spirit and His Word.
Grace and Peace be multiplied unto you.

THEME: KNOWING THE REAL GOD (PART 10)
TOPIC: GOD IS OMNIPOTENT
In our previous teaching, we emphasized how the Israelite limited the Illimitable God in their
own lives; telling us that: the good that happens in our lives will depends on how much
boundary we put on God in our own lives.
GOD’S WILL IS NOT DONE ON EARTH!!!
Mat 6:10: Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE IN EARTH, as it is in heaven.
Why did Jesus teach us to pray that God’s will be done on earth if His will is done
automatically? Almost everybody on earth is acting against the will of God somehow; but in
heaven, God’s will is perfectly done. That is why Jesus told us to pray that His will may be done
in our lives, in our churches, in our nations, in our places of work, and in our families. Do not
believe people who claim that everything happening whether good, bad or ugly is the will of
God. That is wrong. The will of God will not come except by prayers of faith.
Mat 26:39: …O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless NOT AS I
WILL, but as thou wilt.
Jesus’ will was against the will of the Father; but said He would rather follow His Father’s will
than His. If Jesus Himself is tempted to go against God’s will, anybody can; many of us even do
on daily basis. When the soldiers came to get Jesus and Peter tried to defend Him, He said:
Mat 26:53,54: Thinkest thou that I cannot now PRAY TO MY FATHER, and HE SHALL PRESENTLY
GIVE ME more than twelve legions of angels? But HOW THEN SHALL THE SCRIPTURES BE
FULFILLED…?
This is powerful! Jesus is saying He has the ability to go AGAINST THE FATHER’S WILL by even
praying to the Father Himself to send down fighter angels. There are indeed many prayers we
offer to God today which answers we receive but are not God’s perfect will for us. God help us!
DOES GOD THEREFORE NEED US TO FULFIL HIS WILL?
Yes! He does need us! Shocking, isn’t it? If He cannot get His will done through you, He will
replace you like He replaced Saul, Moses and Elijah. But in any case, He needs a man to pray on
earth and agree with Him in heart and acts, that His will may be done.
Eze 22:30,31: And I SOUGHT FOR A MAN among them, that should …stand in the gap before me
for the land, THAT I SHOULD NOT DESTROY IT: BUT I FOUND NONE. Therefore … I HAVE
CONSUMED THEM with the fire of my wrath… saith the Lord GOD.
9. Page 9 of 15

Can you see? There is a nation whose just recompense is destruction, But God in His mercy
wanted to have mercy on them and didn’t want them destroyed. What will God do? He sought
for A MAN ON EARTH among them, who will intercede for them so He can save them, but He
found no one, so they had to face their judgment. That mercy and grace God wants to show
you and your family will never be automatic, you must agree with Him in prayers of “FAITH!!!”
The teaching still continues. Stand in gap for your own life and your family today, God wants
you well, He needs you to agree in with Him in faith, and you will testify in Jesus name. Feel
free to add your comments and questions. We commend you to God’s Spirit and His Word.
Grace and Peace be multiplied unto you.

THEME: KNOWING THE REAL GOD (PART 11)
TOPIC: GOD IS OMNIPOTENT
Previously, we concluded that God’s will is not fulfilled on earth as it is in heaven; Jesus thus
taught us to pray that it be done on earth and in our lives. (Mat 6:10)
OUR ATTITUDE TOWARDS GOD’S OMNIPOTENCE
Now we understand as believers that: all power in heaven and in earth has been given to Jesus
in us; we know that satan has been defeated; God’s will is not done on earth; God has given us
all that pertains to life and godliness; what is therefore His instruction to us in response to
these premises?
Mat 18:18: Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever YE SHALL BIND ON EARTH shall be bound in
heaven: and whatsoever YE SHALL LOOSE ON EARTH shall be loosed in heaven.
We must read that carefully, especially those who have believed that God controls all things on
earth without restrain. Jesus said “Verily” emphatically because He knew some of us will not
believe it. It is not “What God binds in heaven is bound on earth” rather, it is “What we bind on
earth is bound in heaven!” God having done all for us through Jesus tells us to go ahead to bind
and loose. If we refuse and keep waiting for God or keep begging Him to bind or lose for us,
then nothing happens in our lives. Even if they do, it is but by God’s mercy. Obedience and
submission to is Word is key. (Mar 11:23)
GOD SAID “THEY” NOT “I”
Mark 16:17-18: …In my name shall THEY cast out devils; THEY SHALL speak with new tongues;
THEY SHALL take up serpents …THEY SHALL lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Hallelujah! Jesus has done it all. He has given us the power! Therefore, “WE” SHALL cast out
demons; “WE” SHALL lay hands on the sick and they shall recover; “WE” SHALL drink and hold
deadly things and it will not hurt us in His Name.
HOW DID PAUL RESPOND TO THIS?
Act 28:8: And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux:
… AND (PAUL) LAID HIS HANDS ON HIM, AND HEALED HIM.
The Bible made it clear that it was Paul that healed the man (of course with the power of God
not his). We have received this power of God in us (Acts 1:8). It is God’s; but we are the ones
who release it with our words and actions of faith. When there is a problem in our lives; we
must first look inward to know what we have done or have not done that has contributed to it.
We must take authority over such situations of our lives with our Swords. We must not be
11. Page 11 of 15
KNOWING THE REAL GOD | God is Omnipotent
unwise, but understanding what the will of God is. (Eph 5:17; John 14:13,14; John 15:16; John
16:23; John 16:24)
The teaching still continues. Take authority over that situation in your life today; speak to it,
loose, bind, create, condemn, and destroy in the name of Jesus; with FAITH “and patience”:
believing that faithful is He that has promised. Do not beg God to do it for you; He loves you
and wants to give you before you ask. Just ask Him and believe (Mark 11:24; Luke 12:32). Feel
free to add your comments and questions. We commend you to God’s Spirit and His Word.
Grace and Peace be multiplied unto you.

It is important to note that God has not given man this present earth for his (man) ownership
(and frivolity,) but for stewardship. That is why we come in naked and return naked. We are
born with nothing and will return with nothing except a detailed account of how we use the
earth and all its fullness committed into our hands while we are here. Think on these things!
WHY AM I IN THE DARK?
She was brought from a remote village to the house of a rich man in Kaduna. Since it was
daylight, the light of her room was off all day. When it was dark; the power generator was
switched on; the whole house was lightened but she was still in the dark. Even though she went
out and saw everyone enjoying light, she assumed her room was an exception; meanwhile she
was few feet away from the light switch. Aduke was in the dark not because there was no light
supplied to her room but because she didn’t switch on the light.
This is the case with many believers today. God has done all things for us through Jesus. We
only need to identify how God want us to flip the switch. If we are sick, we are “normally” not
supposed to ask God to heal us; God has healed us by His stripes over 2000 years ago. What He
ask us to do now is “FLIP THE SWITCH, DON’T REMAIN IN THE DARK; POWER IS SUPPLIED TO
YOUR ROOM” Get healed, don’t remain sick, I have supplied healing for you through the cross.
This applies to every area of our lives. We must identify what God has done and receive it by
faith that works by love. (Mark 11:23)
WHY WON’T IT WORK?
Akanbi, a rich cocoa farmer from a village, was invited for a meeting with the Minister of
Agriculture in the early 60’s. This would be his first time of seeing the world of technology. He
was amazed at how the fan was blowing and asked a waiter how it works. He was immediately
shown the switch. After the meeting, he rushed to the location described to him of where he
can purchase the fan and went home with it. With joy and excitement, he hung the fan on the
ceiling and the switch on the wall. After hundreds of flipping the switch on and off and much
labor, to his disappointment, the fan would not turn a degree. What was missing? There was no
electricity supplied to his village not to say his home.
This may not be a perfect description of God’s power, but we can learn from Akanbi’s
unfortunate story: We cannot save ourselves without receiving the finished work of Jesus; Faith
cannot produce what grace has not provided. (Rom 4:16a); That we have all the faith and works
does not mean we are the ones saving ourselves, it still God working in us. We cannot add to
God’s salvation, we can only receive it by faith. All our labors are nothing without the power of
13. Page 13 of 15
KNOWING THE REAL GOD | God is Omnipotent
God; even when we demonstrate God’s power and do anything by our faith, we must
understand, we are but empty barrels without the power of God working in us.
God told Ezekiel to speak to the bones in “the Book of Ezekiel 37:1-7” why didn’t God speak to
the bones Himself? That is the revelation God is showing us, He tells Ezekiel what to say, Ezekiel
says them and there is a performance. Today we have God’s Word in Scriptures; God wants us
to say them mixed with faith and there will be a performance.
Luke 1:45: “And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things
which were told her from the Lord.” What happens to she that did not believe? Simple! There
shall not be a performance of those things said of the Omnipotent God! Start speaking today by
faith today! Maybe you are not God and you don’t see result immediately, don’t stop saying it!
Find out what God says about you and receive it.
Grace and Peace be multiplied unto you.

If some harmful persons came to your father and asked that they may do evil against you only if
your father permitted them. What would you think of the father that gives such permission? A
good father or a bad father? I won’t blame that evil doer if I were you; I will rather blame my
father who could stop the evil but did not. Well, what would you think of God Most High if He is
the one that gives permission to all evil that happens on earth? The hurricanes, the rapes, theft,
assassinations, suicides, molestation, kidnaps, epidemics, bombings, terrorism, wars,
barrenness, man slaughter, among several evil that are done in our generation? What kind of
father would He be? If we being carnal and evil will not do such to our children, how much
more our heavenly Father. (Mat 7:11) He is the “loving Father” Jesus came to show us who
does good both for the just and the unjust. (Mat 5:45)
WHY THEN DO BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO GOD’S PEOPLE?
Bad things happen to God’s people because we live in a fallen world which lies in wickedness.
(1Joh 5:19) Almost everything around us has the devil’s signature; all of creation have all been
captured in a measure of iniquity (Rom 8:20-22). Many times we ourselves (or people who have
authority over our lives) also cooperate with the devil and become instruments of evil for our
own lives either actively or passively. But for this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that
he might destroy the works of the devil (1John 3:8). WE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO STOP OUR
LAZARUS FROM DYING, BUT WHEN HE DIES WE CAN ALWAYS BRING HIM BACK TO LIFE IN THE
NAME OF JESUS! We must desist from thinking God is the issuer of the permission for evil over
our lives. Rather we should take authority over situations in the name of Jesus by faith! And if
our faith is not enough, we can call another to agree with us. (Mat 18:18,19) And if it was our
fault, we can always obtain mercy and get such dealt with. (Heb 4:16)
BELIEVERS IN THE CENTRE OF GOD’S WILL
Nevertheless, we must consider this. I believe that a believer can boldly say that “all that
happens in my life is by the will of God” if he is in the center of God’s will every day and thus
permits God to mold his life the way He wants. Thus, God in His wisdom and power would make
all things (both good, bad, and ugly) work together for his conformity to the image of the Son.
(Rom 8:28-30) Jesus told Pilate: ”Thou COULDEST HAVE NO POWER AT ALL AGAINST ME,
EXCEPT IT WERE GIVEN THEE FROM ABOVE” (John 19:11). Jesus was secured because He does
all that the Father commands. So He knows that all that happens to Him is by His Father’s will
and they are to His advantage. They could not kill Him until it was time. But a person who ate
too much and became obese now claiming that God made him fat is only deceiving himself and
refusing to take responsibility for his folly. A person who refused to pray and heed to warnings
and instruction and now experiencing troubles cannot claim God permitted evil in his life. A
person who chose a spouse because of beauty or money, who is now paying the price through
15. Page 15 of 15
KNOWING THE REAL GOD | God is Omnipotent
his nose is only reaping the fruit of his labor and cannot claim he is in the center of God’s will. A
person who refused to exercise faith and authority over his circumstances cannot claim he is in
God’s will either.
We must not be unwise but understanding what the will of the Lord is. (Eph 5:17). I believe
there are two things among many others the Lord will never take from us: our daily bread and
our daily health except we lay them down ourselves. (Psalm 37:25; Isaiah 53:5; John 10:18)
Finally, we who are called according to His purpose should keep on loving Him with all our heart
and following His instructions and warnings; so that all things will work together for our good as
we understand His will in every situation. (Romans 8:28)
Grace and Peace be multiplied unto you.
