Sue Schardt is a longtime DJ on MIT’s WMBR radio station who currently serves as an executive producer at Margin Media in Dorchester, Massachusetts. Throughout her career, Sue Schardt has worked tirelessly to democratize public media. She recently received the Bader Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of her work. The Bader Lifetime Achievement Award is administered by the National Federation of Community Broadcasters (NCFB), a professional membership organization that represents community radio stations operating within the public media system. Since its founding in 1978, the NCFB has worked to enhance the impact of community media while also honoring the profession with professional awards. The Bader Lifetime Achievement Award is just one of several awards administered by the NCFB. Others include the Golden Torchlight, Volunteer of the Year, and the Media Citizenship Award. The Bader Award recognizes a single, remarkable contribution to community radio or a lifetime of important work in the radio space. Both individuals and groups are eligible for the award, which is named after Michael Bader, a hardworking attorney and tireless advocate for community radio.
