Rollem the best
print finishing machinery
in the world
All Rollem print finishing systems are designed
so you can process each sheet in a job
individually in a single pass.
Rollem systems can be configured as inline,
nearline or offline. Run offline, with one of
Rollem’s premium feeders or go for inline, and
you could run each print job directly from your
printer in one non-stop pass to finishing and

- in short, print and finish any combination
of these processes with one operator, one
pass, from plain paper to finished job without
touching it once!
So the days of finishing jobs batch by batch on
separate machines – with separate operators
for each process – will be history.
With a Rollem finishing system you
can print, finish and ship a job in a
single operation.
An introduction to
Today’s customers demand 24-hour turnaround
for quality print at rock bottom prices.
With Rollem you can more than deliver and
increase profits.
Design - Build - Install - Service
Here at Rollem we work with you to solve your
print finishing problem, so we design a system
that suits your individual needs, taking the
building blocks of our capability and adapting
them to create a print finishing system that
completes each stage and produces a finished
product ready for binding or packing. Following
manufacture of the system, as part of our
complete service, we will then install the system
working with your engineers and operators,
providing training in both operation and basic
maintenance. To keep your Rollem machine
working to full capacity, we also offer a six week
service call, and 12 months warranty. For your
ongoing needs, we offer service contracts, and
spares are available across our range.

About Us
“ “Only Rollem could create
a ‘one-off’ machine that
met all our needs!
We call it‘web-to-print-to-delivery’.
Photobooks, calendars,
and diaries
“ “Just one Rollem PhotoSlit does
the work of 4 guillotines, with
one operator, and has given us
back our workflow.
The market for photobooks has exploded in the last couple of years, and customer demand is high
for perfectly finished, great value products.
But the finishing process can be far from straightforward, with orders coming in for a range of
sizes and differing page quantities. One way to see the problem is to imagine photobook pages
printed 4-up on SRA3 sheets. One of the problems is how best to order the customers’pages onto
those sheets. Pre-press has to arrange the pages in the correct order, so that when the sheets
are guillotined into four, four stacks are produced, one for each customer. Not easy when each
customer will have different numbers of pages .
The workflow is hindered because the pre-press presents major difficulties:
• difficulty in getting the customers’pages into the correct order for the guillotine cutting, made
worse because each customer’s order may have different numbers of pages.
• difficulty in batching together photobooks of different sizes so that the guillotines have
reasonable stack sizes to be efficient.
The guillotines may present difficulties because:
• each guillotine needs a skilled operator, adding labour cost to the work
• after guillotining, the stacks of pages have to be sorted into individual books ready for binding
• pre-press may add in blank pages to balance the page numbers up, so these blank pages have
to be removed
• sometimes more than one guillotine is needed for each printer because of all the interruptions
to efficient work flow.
So what’s the solution? The Rollem PhotoSlit, of course,
featuring:
• web to print to delivery work flow
• accuracy
• cut quality
• reduced operator skills
• 3D raised printing effects cared for
• reliability and great turnaround times

With our Rollem machine,
we now get 25 business
cards from an SRA3 sheet.
Before it was just 20!
Nothing matches the performance and longevity of a Rollem slitting blade. Our latest bevel
edge‘FineCut’blade design delivers an incomparable finish.
What’s more, typically, you can run your machine 24/7 for over four months before even
thinking of a blade change - try that with a guillotine!
Rollem machines take sheet sizes and paper weights from A5 to SRA3 to B1and from 80 gsm
to well over 400gsm with lamination.
Collate? Separate?
There’s a Rollem machine for you!
One sheet, identical cards digitally printed
– need them collated? We recommend the
Rollem JetStream with AutoCollator.
One sheet, different cards offset printed –
need them separated? We recommend the
Rollem BCSii with Cassette Collection.
JetSlit MKII
Finishing smaller web-to-print jobs with bleed
The Rollem JetSlit has been developed to produce the most
exacting of web-to-print applications - the business card.
The smallest regularly ordered print job, requiring, at the
smallest size, the same productivity and the option to bleed
the image off the card with a double or gutter slit – even on
heavy stocks with double-sided matt-laminate – The JetSlit.
Fast throughput, unmatched productivity
With its pre-programmed settings, jobs can be produced at
up to 8,000sph. Optional features include a pallet loading
full size deep pile feeder, the Rollem AutoLay, conveyors,
cassettes and an automatic collator. Finishes stock sizes
from 140 x 125mm to 712 x 762mm and stock weights from
100gsm to 700gsm.
Huge productivity from a single operator
JetSlit slits cards quickly and with minimal handling, with
just one operator.
Quality cutting
Again, we’ve raised the bar in cutting-blade
technology with our new JetSlit blades. Compared to
a conventional guillotine, JetSlit’s rotary blades give a
more precise edge, less waste and higher productivity,
eliminating marking or‘crushing’on thermographed or
embossed work. These blades cut all thicknesses with
ease.
Cut wastage
JetSlit’s standard 2mm gutter slit minimises waste by
producing business cards printed 25-to-view on an
SRA3 sheet. Compare this with the 20 cards achieved
by a guillotine’s extra gutter space.

Rollem machine.
Larry Corwin
President, Rollem Corporation of America
DON’T GAMBLE WITH ACCURACY!
That’s why 90% of casino suppliers finish their playing cards on Rollem print finishing
machines. While there’s no cutting corners on quality with a Rollem, you can of course, round-
corner your decks online. When the stakes are high, Rollem will keep your revenue rolling in,
night after night and day after day.
Rollem print finishing machinery eliminates the need for separate guillotining, collating, die-

SlipStream IIIDEAL FOR HIGH VOLUME GAME, PRODUCT, TRADING
AND CASINO-QUALITY PLAYING CARDS
The SlipStream is the most automated of all Rollem print
finishing machines and that’s saying something! This is
the heavyweight inline finishing and packaging system
that will change your thinking on card conversion and
packaging profits.
The SlipStream can do it all, eliminating the need for
separate guillotining, collating, perforating and scoring
options. Now you can shrink-wrap, box, die-cut, round-
corner, FullPunch or over-wrap all on line. In fact the only
thing the SlipStream can’t do is play cards for you!
The highest productivity
You can use a quarter of the manpower in an eighth of the
time and still increase your productivity 10 or even 20-fold.
It processes full sheets, slits them in two directions and
collates them all in one pass. You can cut and collate up to
250,000 pieces in one hour, minimising materials handling,
and maximising your profits.
One button operation
At the push of a button the SlipStream trims all four edges
of a sheet and the multiple printed images, cuts the sheet
into separate rectangular portions, perforates and/or
creases each portion, collects and delivers all the portions
into a fully collated stack or individual pack and transfers
the packs to inline round corner, FullPunch, shrink-wrap,
box die cut or over-wrap systems.
Unprecedented accuracy
SlipStream delivers an incredible +/- 0.1mm margin of
accuracy, this means that cards produced six months
ago from a different batch will marry identically to those

CD Inlays
“ “Rollem’s customer support is
first class. I wish my other
suppliers were more like them!
In one pass the Rollem‘CD’machine
will automatically trim, slit and
perforate a sheet in two directions,
then either collate the cut portions
into individual packs or separate each
image out, delivering each image in its
own shingled stream.
Our models are available to handle 6,
8, 9, 12, 16 and 24 images per sheet
format. The rotary slitters cut cleaner
and assure consistent accuracy of the
finished packs.
BCSiiIDEAL FOR OFFSET PRINTED BUSINESS CARD FINISHING AND CD INLAYS
We designed the BCSii high-volume, high-speed card
slitting system exclusively for business card and CD
production. It’s capable of processing up to 12,000 sheets
per hour, delivering indivudual streams and performing
slitting, trimming and gutter-slitting operations in a single
pass to create finished business cards or inlays. Looking
for the best, dedicated CD inlay finishing machine? You’ve
found it.
Highest-quality cutting
Nothing cuts like a Rollem. With our unique two-directional
slit/score/perf capability, sheets are slit into strips then
conveyed into individual register guides. There, they are
slit in the second direction, and delivered into individual
streams. BCSii has perfect registration even while running
at extremely high production speeds.
Mark-free processing
There’s absolutely no marking from processing on a
Rollem. What’s more, you can apply special finishes such as
thermography, embossing or the latest 3D profiles with no
crushing. Laminates? No problem.
Just a single operator
BCSii allows you to use less machinery and fewer people.
You can take control of your finishing and squeeze
maximum added value from your printing.
Long-life technologically advanced slitting
blade
Typically, you can operate your BCSii 24/7 for over four
months before you even think of replacing the blade – try
that with a guillotine. Add to that our new‘finest cut’bevel
edge blade design and you have a machine that is quite
simply second to none.
Minimal waste
Make-ready is fast and efficient on the BCSii – run just two
or three sheets to establish slitting accuracy and you’re
ready to go. Bleed cutting further saves waste – 1.6mm
gutter slits are standard, and no other system can go down
to a 0.8mm gutter.
Features
• Over 100,000 cards per hour
• Separate stream delivery of each card/inlay
• No other machine delivers a 1.6mm gutter

For fright-free folding you can choose from 12 styles
of scoring/creasing line and three processing systems,
including our heavy-duty rigidised machines with twin
head processing for heavier stocks. Each crease line gets hit
twice so that only the best gets through, leaving a superb
crack-free fold.
With Rollem print finishing solutions you can score
• in combination with other processes like slitting and
perforating in just one pass
• accurately, with no worries about misalignment
• consistently 24/7, regardless of weight of stock.
Semi-slit and Slit
Our machines are so versatile and accurate, they remove
standard 6mm gutters in their stride and can go right down
to a staggeringly slight 1.6mm. Impossible on a guillotine!
Why is 1.6mm so important? Because it gives you more
images on a sheet – so you can get 25 business cards from
an SRA3 sheet instead of just 16. Less waste means lower
running costs, or you can choose to use smaller sheet sizes
which is also good for your pocket.
The playing card industry insists on Rollem finishing. Why?
Because a Rollem machine can effortlessly deliver the 0.001”
tolerances they demand. CD inlay producers are equally
loyal to our machines, as only a Rollem can trim to a 0.2mm
tolerance on large lightweight sheets.
With Rollem you can
• slit in combination with other processes such as
perforating and creasing, giving productivity and
quality in just one pass
• handle exceptionally curly, embossed or
thermographed sheets with no trouble because there’s
no stack to crush or misalign
• process each sheet accurately at high speed.
Trim
You can trim off waste edges to the tightest tolerances with
Rollem. Our machines are supremely accurate, processing
every sheet with identical precision. No surprise then,
that the playing card industry insists on Rollem finishing
because only a Rollem can meet the 0.001”tolerances
they demand. CD inlay producers are equally loyal, as
only a Rollem can trim to a 0.2mm tolerance on the large
lightweight sheets they use.
With Rollem print finishing machinery you can
• trim in combination with other processes such as
perforating and creasing, giving productivity and
quality in just one pass
• handle exceptionally curly, embossed or
thermographed sheets with no trouble because there’s
no stack to crush or misalign
• process each sheet accurately at high speed.
ChampionIDEAL FOR MULTI-PURPOSE FINISHING WHERE SPACE IS AT A PREMIUM
We understand that floor space is in high demand. That’s
why we designed the Champion to deliver all the features
you need in the smallest possible package. It perforates,
scores and slits with the highest speed and accuracy of
any machine of its kind. Equally impressive, it can handle
any type of stock, from 45gsm to 700 gsm e.g. a credit
card, printed offset or digitally – even open-end NCR sets
just glide through. The Champion is the perfect system for
smaller runs and operations that don’t need the highest
automation.
Fast set-up
You don’t need to be a press operator to get the best out
of a Champion – in minutes you’ll be performing up to
1050mm of perforation and score lines at speeds up to
18,000sph.
Limitless capabilities
Champion offers a host of production options – perforate/
micro-perforate/slit-perforate; trim/slit/gutter slit; and
score/crease – all in a single pass.
New twin-shaft option
Champion’s heavy-duty twin-shaft option is ideal for
scoring/creasing digital and heavyweight stocks. Two
tandem shafts operate in perfect registration, the first head
lightly scoring while the second follows with a deeper
score – reducing the chance of ink cracking, regardless of
coverage, grain direction or stock weight. Need to produce
pressure-sensitive labels? Simply order a Champion with
the semi-slitting (kiss-cutting) option.
Minimal waste
Because Champion can easily compensate for registration
and stock imperfections, you can salvage‘off-register’
sheets and avoid costly reprints.
Minimum maintenance, maximum profits
Less downtime means a huge increase in your ROI. All
Rollem machines are built to perform from Day One, and to
go on delivering that same dependability for years to come.
Features
• Advanced but easy to use, the finishing answer for
shorter runs
• Faster and more accurate than any machine of its
kind
• Unlimited capabilities: will perf, score or slit and
type of stock
All specifications are subject to change without prior notification.
Processes
“Rollem has made a real
difference to what we
can achieve!
“
Perforating
Having trouble tearing cleanly along a perforation
line? Odds on, it wasn’t produced on Rollem finishing
equipment!
Rollem perforators actually punch out the perforation,
leaving a rectangular hole in the paper - nothing could be
clearer or more satisfying to tear or rip along.
With Rollem you can
• choose from 13 standard styles of punch perforation
• order a custom perfing design for the rare occasions
when a standard blade doesn’t fit the bill
• perforate in combination with other processes such as
slitting and creasing, for productivity and quality in one
pass.
Micro perforating
When only the neatest and cleanest possible perforation
line will do, you need a Rollem micro-perforator. Our
winning combination of six different blade styles and three
separate perforating processes deliver first class results –
whatever the stock.
With Rollem print finishing equipment you can
• micro-perforate in combination with other processes
such as slitting and creasing, giving productivity and
quality in just one pass.
• achieve fantastic results on any suitable paper, card or
plastic stock.
• micro-perforate at speed, accurately and consistently
24/7.
Why buy Rollem? - Speed of Turnaround
‘WEB-TO-PRINT-TO-DELIVERY
‘I want it tomorrow, if not today!’
This level of customer demand, generated by web-to-
print, has set the industry talking. However the phrase
‘web-to-print’doesn’t take finishing into account.
And finishing is essential to a realistic business model
because if a supplier doesn’t factor-in foolproof
finishing, the speed of delivery is jeopardised.
That’s why, here at Rollem we look at the whole
process; from‘web-to-print-to-delivery’. Because our
job is to help you finish your print to an exceptionally
high quality in double-quick time – and get it
delivered as soon as it hits the floor.
TURNAROUND TIME? NEXT DAY OR SOONER!
1. Your customer uploads details and places a
greetings card or business card order online today.
2. The automated order goes straight to print.
3. You finish it on a Rollem machine in 20-30 minutes.
4. Now you can send it to your customer instantly!
With a Rollem machine you can meet the pressure to
deliver asap and gain a competitive edge. Our print
finishing machines boost productivity and build your
brand, delivering a return on investment from Day
One.
ONE MULTI-TASKING MACHINE + ZERO SEPARATE FINISHING PROCESSES = SOARING PRODUCTIVITY
Why buy Rollem? - Cut Costs
FLOOR-TO-FLOOR
‘Implementing a rollem solution has
reduced manning levels as much as 75%.’
Floor-to-floor time is a key consideration for any
successful print business. Save time and manpower
here and the benefits feed directly to your bottom
line. Since all our print finishing equipment - however
multi-functional - is single operator, your staff savings
add up from the day of installation.
Traditional finishing involves pallets of paper
sitting on the shop floor between lengthy finishing
processes. This means significant high-value stock
and inventory assets are tied-up unnecessarily.
With a Rollem machine each sheet of stock is swiftly
converted into an instant cash return. Just one more
reason why our machines pay for themselves so
quickly.
SINGLE OPERATOR + GENIUS MACHINE = SERIOUS SAVINGS
Why buy Rollem? - Improve Accuracy
ADJUST A JOB WHILE IT’S RUNNING
Printing and finishing is all about variables. We all
know that on a humid day paper stretches, so a centre
score can move up to 2mm on, for example, a greeting
card. Without a Rollem machine the whole job could
be run and wasted, losing you valuable time and
money. By contrast, with print finishing solutions like
Rollem Advantage and Revolution, a single operator
can correct the job in situ, adjusting after the first
sheet passes through. So you can build on your
reputation for accuracy while saving time and money.
PLUS, NO NEED FOR CUSTOM TOOLING
At the moment, do you...
1. Print your job
2. Order a form tool for perforating
3. Guillotine to size
4. Fit your form tool onto a separate perforating
machine
5. Perforate job?
Buy Rollem and the job of perfing shrinks overnight.
In fact, it may take you a while to adjust to all the extra
time you’ll have!
Now you’ll be able to...
1. Print your job.
2. Set the rotary perfing and slitting tools on your
Rollem machine (a matter of minutes).
3. Complete all your finishing processes in one go.
Left with time to spare? You could spend it re-setting
your Rollem for the next perfing job!
ON-THE-FLY ADJUSTMENT + PERFECT REGISTRATION = INDUSTRY-LEADING ACCURACY

Rollem - the story behind our name
Our company’s founder was called Joseph Mellor. In
1929 he set up a general engineering firm in Sheffield,
Yorkshire. With the innovative approach that was to
become a hallmark of his success, Mellor reversed
his surname and christened his new venture‘Rollem’.
The company went from strength to strength, soon
developing an international reputation as leading
print finishing equipment suppliers.
Global success
We draw on over 80 years’experience to create
innovative bespoke solutions for printers around the
world. We export 85% of our production, including
50% to the demanding US market.
Today Rollem is a byword for quality, productivity
and reliability in print finishing machines. Indeed
the Rollem name worldwide is so synonymous with
first class finishing that it’s widely used as a generic
name, (just like the Hoover brand). In the international
language of finishing the verb‘to Rollem’, as in
‘to Rollem a piece of print’means to finish a job
accurately, quickly and cost-effectively.
Print finishers’online equipment
Finishing digital printing is an increasingly large part
of our business, but whatever your print challenge we
can help you finish it. Playing cards, business cards,
trading cards, game cards, greetings cards, post cards,
mailers, photo products, leaflets, labels, calendars,
invoices and brochures - whatever print you’re looking
to finish, look to Rollem.
Productivity
Our industry-leading systems combine exceptional
productivity—slitting/trimming/perforating/creasing
up to 15,000 A4 sheets an hour—with ultimate
accuracy on stocks from lightweight paper to plastic.
Our speedy floor to floor solutions can reduce
manning levels up to 75%.
All Rollem solutions are floor to floor, processing
each sheet individually in a single pass. Install a
Rollem solution and you can do away with the time-
consuming process of finishing jobs batch by batch
on separate machines with separate operators.
When a job arrives you can run and ship it in a single
operation, efficiently converting sheets into deliveries
and invoices into cash. A Rollem solution not only
speeds turnaround and enhances productivity, it also
delivers instant staffing savings.
The widest range of print finishing operations
From scoring, perforating, mircroperforating, creasing,
slitting, trimming, guillotining, semi-slitting, collating,
die cutting, rotary die cutting, punching, die punching
and numbering.
The finest tolerances
Rollem machines regularly surpass the +/- .001”Las
Vegas casinos demand on playing card decks and the
+/- 0.2mm essential for CD inlays. Our reputation for
accuracy is recognised too by the security printing
sector.
Higher throughput and accuracy
Many Rollem solutions incorporate rotary-wheel
technology to deliver higher throughput and accuracy
than platen or fixed-knife machines. Our Research
and Development department has even developed
a rotary solution to slitting, perforating or scoring
sheets up to 150cm.
Unparalleled flexibility
Our machines are so flexible, you can set up a job in
minutes. Set up’s so fast because slitting, creasing and
perforating tools on Rollem machines can be re-used,
so you don’t have to create a new fixture for each job.
Equally important, you can adjust individual tools - to
fractions of a millimetre - in an instant. So you can
move a perforation line in next to no time.

  • 2.
  • 3. All Rollem print finishing systems are designed so you can process each sheet in a job individually in a single pass. Rollem systems can be configured as inline, nearline or offline. Run offline, with one of Rollem’s premium feeders or go for inline, and you could run each print job directly from your printer in one non-stop pass to finishing and trim guillotine slit semi-slit perforate micro-perforate die punch number collate - in short, print and finish any combination of these processes with one operator, one pass, from plain paper to finished job without touching it once! So the days of finishing jobs batch by batch on separate machines – with separate operators for each process – will be history. With a Rollem finishing system you can print, finish and ship a job in a single operation. An introduction to Today’s customers demand 24-hour turnaround for quality print at rock bottom prices. With Rollem you can more than deliver and increase profits. Design - Build - Install - Service Here at Rollem we work with you to solve your print finishing problem, so we design a system that suits your individual needs, taking the building blocks of our capability and adapting them to create a print finishing system that completes each stage and produces a finished product ready for binding or packing. • 4. Photobooks, calendars, and diaries “ “Just one Rollem PhotoSlit does the work of 4 guillotines, with one operator, and has given us back our workflow. The market for photobooks has exploded in the last couple of years, and customer demand is high for perfectly finished, great value products. But the finishing process can be far from straightforward, with orders coming in for a range of sizes and differing page quantities. One way to see the problem is to imagine photobook pages printed 4-up on SRA3 sheets. One of the problems is how best to order the customers’pages onto those sheets. Pre-press has to arrange the pages in the correct order, so that when the sheets are guillotined into four, four stacks are produced, one for each customer. Not easy when each customer will have different numbers of pages . The workflow is hindered because the pre-press presents major difficulties: • difficulty in getting the customers’pages into the correct order for the guillotine cutting, made worse because each customer’s order may have different numbers of pages. • difficulty in batching together photobooks of different sizes so that the guillotines have reasonable stack sizes to be efficient. The guillotines may present difficulties because: • each guillotine needs a skilled operator, adding labour cost to the work • after guillotining, the stacks of pages have to be sorted into individual books ready for binding • pre-press may add in blank pages to balance the page numbers up, so these blank pages have to be removed • sometimes more than one guillotine is needed for each printer because of all the interruptions to efficient work flow. So what’s the solution? The Rollem PhotoSlit, of course, featuring: • web to print to delivery work flow • accuracy • cut quality • reduced operator skills • 3D raised printing effects cared for • reliability and great turnaround times
  • 5. PhotoSlitIDEAL FOR QUALITY FINISHING OF PHOTOBOOKS Tap into the booming market for photobooks with the revolutionary Rollem PhotoSlit. PhotoSlit combines high cut quality and productivity with fast job changeover and minimum maintenance. Developed in response to market demand – this is the definitive photobook print finishing machine. Fast turnaround Designed for turnaround printers with digital web-to-print workflows for jobs up to SRA3 as standard and B1 as an option, PhotoSlit can handle up to 8,000 SRA3 sheets an hour. The output page size ranges from A6 upwards. Precision cutting PhotoSlit’s two-dimensional bleed cutting facility provides amazingly accurate and narrow bleed cutting. With a gutter size as small as 1.6mm, PhotoSlit significantly reduces waste and produces more pages per printed sheet than any other production method. Each printed sheet is carefully handled individually, with identical processing every time leading to Features • Designed for web-to-print • More pages per sheet than any other production method • Ultimate accuracy plus in-operation image shift correction • Fast changeover and minimal maintenance • Instant size changing to popular pre-set sizes – no make-ready • Each customer’s image pages, delivered separately, ready for binding extremely precise registration. Problems with print image shift can be easily corrected on-the-fly with the Rollem AutoLay system. Near-line, in -line, off-line PhotoSlit is available in near-line, in-line and off-line configurations. The off-line mode can be used with Rollem’s reliable and robust deep-pile feeder or shallow-pile TurboFeeder. All specifications are subject to change without prior notification.
  • 6. Business Cards UNPARALLELED QUALITY + LONG LIFE SRA3 sheet Guillotine Rollem Machine To remove gutter between bleed artwork cards 6mm double cuts 1.6mm cuts Standard Grid 5 x 4 5 x 5 Cards per sheet 20 25 Waste Significant Minimal “ “ With our Rollem machine, we now get 25 business cards from an SRA3 sheet. Before it was just 20! Nothing matches the performance and longevity of a Rollem slitting blade. Our latest bevel edge‘FineCut’blade design delivers an incomparable finish. What’s more, typically, you can run your machine 24/7 for over four months before even thinking of a blade change - try that with a guillotine! Rollem machines take sheet sizes and paper weights from A5 to SRA3 to B1and from 80 gsm to well over 400gsm with lamination. Collate? Separate? There’s a Rollem machine for you! One sheet, identical cards digitally printed – need them collated? We recommend the Rollem JetStream with AutoCollator. One sheet, different cards offset printed – need them separated? We recommend the Rollem BCSii with Cassette Collection.

  • 24. Processes “ “The problems we used to have with cracking on the fold are history! Score With today’s new printing processes and speciality papers, folding can be a real nightmare. If you’re looking for a good night’s sleep the solution is a Rollem. Select from our comprehensive range of superbly engineered folding machines for first class quality and optimum productivity. For fright-free folding you can choose from 12 styles of scoring/creasing line and three processing systems, including our heavy-duty rigidised machines with twin head processing for heavier stocks. Each crease line gets hit twice so that only the best gets through, leaving a superb crack-free fold. With Rollem print finishing solutions you can score • in combination with other processes like slitting and perforating in just one pass • accurately, with no worries about misalignment • consistently 24/7, regardless of weight of stock. Semi-slit and Slit Our machines are so versatile and accurate, they remove standard 6mm gutters in their stride and can go right down to a staggeringly slight 1.6mm. Impossible on a guillotine! Why is 1.6mm so important? Because it gives you more images on a sheet – so you can get 25 business cards from an SRA3 sheet instead of just 16. Less waste means lower running costs, or you can choose to use smaller sheet sizes which is also good for your pocket. The playing card industry insists on Rollem finishing. Why? Because a Rollem machine can effortlessly deliver the 0.001” tolerances they demand. CD inlay producers are equally loyal to our machines, as only a Rollem can trim to a 0.2mm tolerance on large lightweight sheets. With Rollem you can • slit in combination with other processes such as perforating and creasing, giving productivity and quality in just one pass • handle exceptionally curly, embossed or thermographed sheets with no trouble because there’s no stack to crush or misalign • process each sheet accurately at high speed. Trim You can trim off waste edges to the tightest tolerances with Rollem. Our machines are supremely accurate, processing every sheet with identical precision. No surprise then, that the playing card industry insists on Rollem finishing because only a Rollem can meet the 0.001”tolerances they demand. CD inlay producers are equally loyal, as only a Rollem can trim to a 0.2mm tolerance on the large lightweight sheets they use. With Rollem print finishing machinery you can • trim in combination with other processes such as perforating and creasing, giving productivity and quality in just one pass • handle exceptionally curly, embossed or thermographed sheets with no trouble because there’s no stack to crush or misalign • process each sheet accurately at high speed.

That’s why, here at Rollem we look at the whole process; from‘web-to-print-to-delivery’. Because our job is to help you finish your print to an exceptionally high quality in double-quick time – and get it delivered as soon as it hits the floor. TURNAROUND TIME? NEXT DAY OR SOONER! 1. • 28. Why buy Rollem? - Cut Costs FLOOR-TO-FLOOR ‘Implementing a rollem solution has reduced manning levels as much as 75%.’ Floor-to-floor time is a key consideration for any successful print business. Save time and manpower here and the benefits feed directly to your bottom line. Since all our print finishing equipment - however multi-functional - is single operator, your staff savings add up from the day of installation. Traditional finishing involves pallets of paper sitting on the shop floor between lengthy finishing processes. This means significant high-value stock and inventory assets are tied-up unnecessarily. With a Rollem machine each sheet of stock is swiftly converted into an instant cash return. Just one more reason why our machines pay for themselves so quickly. SINGLE OPERATOR + GENIUS MACHINE = SERIOUS SAVINGS
  • 29. Why buy Rollem? - Improve Accuracy ADJUST A JOB WHILE IT’S RUNNING Printing and finishing is all about variables. We all know that on a humid day paper stretches, so a centre score can move up to 2mm on, for example, a greeting card. Without a Rollem machine the whole job could be run and wasted, losing you valuable time and money. By contrast, with print finishing solutions like Rollem Advantage and Revolution, a single operator can correct the job in situ, adjusting after the first sheet passes through. So you can build on your reputation for accuracy while saving time and money. PLUS, NO NEED FOR CUSTOM TOOLING At the moment, do you... 1. Print your job 2. Order a form tool for perforating 3. Guillotine to size 4. Fit your form tool onto a separate perforating machine 5. Perforate job? Buy Rollem and the job of perfing shrinks overnight. In fact, it may take you a while to adjust to all the extra time you’ll have! Now you’ll be able to... 1. Print your job. 2. Set the rotary perfing and slitting tools on your Rollem machine (a matter of minutes). 3. Complete all your finishing processes in one go. Left with time to spare? You could spend it re-setting your Rollem for the next perfing job! ON-THE-FLY ADJUSTMENT + PERFECT REGISTRATION = INDUSTRY-LEADING ACCURACY

  • 32. Rollem - the story behind our name Our company’s founder was called Joseph Mellor. In 1929 he set up a general engineering firm in Sheffield, Yorkshire. With the innovative approach that was to become a hallmark of his success, Mellor reversed his surname and christened his new venture‘Rollem’. The company went from strength to strength, soon developing an international reputation as leading print finishing equipment suppliers. Global success We draw on over 80 years’experience to create innovative bespoke solutions for printers around the world. We export 85% of our production, including 50% to the demanding US market. Today Rollem is a byword for quality, productivity and reliability in print finishing machines. Indeed the Rollem name worldwide is so synonymous with first class finishing that it’s widely used as a generic name, (just like the Hoover brand). In the international language of finishing the verb‘to Rollem’, as in ‘to Rollem a piece of print’means to finish a job accurately, quickly and cost-effectively. Print finishers’online equipment Finishing digital printing is an increasingly large part of our business, but whatever your print challenge we can help you finish it. Playing cards, business cards, trading cards, game cards, greetings cards, post cards, mailers, photo products, leaflets, labels, calendars, invoices and brochures - whatever print you’re looking to finish, look to Rollem. Productivity Our industry-leading systems combine exceptional productivity—slitting/trimming/perforating/creasing up to 15,000 A4 sheets an hour—with ultimate accuracy on stocks from lightweight paper to plastic. Our speedy floor to floor solutions can reduce manning levels up to 75%. All Rollem solutions are floor to floor, processing each sheet individually in a single pass. Install a Rollem solution and you can do away with the time- consuming process of finishing jobs batch by batch on separate machines with separate operators. When a job arrives you can run and ship it in a single operation, efficiently converting sheets into deliveries and invoices into cash. A Rollem solution not only speeds turnaround and enhances productivity, it also delivers instant staffing savings. The widest range of print finishing operations From scoring, perforating, mircroperforating, creasing, slitting, trimming, guillotining, semi-slitting, collating, die cutting, rotary die cutting, punching, die punching and numbering. The finest tolerances Rollem machines regularly surpass the +/- .001”Las Vegas casinos demand on playing card decks and the +/- 0.2mm essential for CD inlays. Our reputation for accuracy is recognised too by the security printing sector. Higher throughput and accuracy Many Rollem solutions incorporate rotary-wheel technology to deliver higher throughput and accuracy than platen or fixed-knife machines. Our Research and Development department has even developed a rotary solution to slitting, perforating or scoring sheets up to 150cm. Unparalleled flexibility Our machines are so flexible, you can set up a job in minutes. Set up’s so fast because slitting, creasing and perforating tools on Rollem machines can be re-used, so you don’t have to create a new fixture for each job. Equally important, you can adjust individual tools - to fractions of a millimetre - in an instant. So you can move a perforation line in next to no time.
