For too long, data-practices have been put on the back-burner in the name of cost savings. Now, there is
a reason to “clean house.” Every good data-practice needs to have an overall strategy for their data and
the DPIA is a good place to start. According to the U.K. Information Commissioner’s Office,” A DPIA is a
process designed to help you systematically analyze, identify and minimize the data protection risks of a
project or plan. It is a key part of your accountability obligations under the GDPR, and when done
properly helps you assess and demonstrate how you comply with all of your data protection
