Do You Think it is a Small Matter- David’s Men.pptx
A few words for my children
1. A few words for my
children
Latest update: October 2, 2013
2. Can you be your own friend?
Be honest to yourself. If you’re not,
you will still catch it some day, but it
may be late
3. What about others?
Be honest to others. They may not
catch your lies, but lies to others
usually turn into lies to ourselves
4. Should you believe in…
Consider this: The Church tortured
and killed people claiming the Earth is
round. The Church opposed forks as a
blasphemy to “God-given fingers”.
Learn by yourself about the others…
5. Is it something wrong with it?
Respect anyone’s liberty to adopt any
religion or structure of beliefs, as long
as the practice of that religion or
beliefs respects you as a human
being with rights equal to all human
beings
6. Can it turn wrong, maybe?
Believers can make good, even great
friends, for as long as they don’t
insist too much to convert you
7. Do I really want something?
If you would like to convert, however,
and believe you are still honest to
yourself after that, feel free to
convert
8. And that is because…
There is no external measure to self-
honesty. It’s what you feel, what you
believe about it!
9. What is richness?
Richness is health, richness is love,
richness is being able to be honest to
others with minimal risks
10. Is it risky to be rich?
Of course, there is risk in everything:
in every heartbeat, in every breath,
in every fly!
11. How about Money?
Money is everywhere on the ground.
Watch who’s behind you when you
bend to pick it up
12. And how about age?
There’s no better survival strategy
than getting older
13. Recipe for good company?
Never chase a bird. Just build a nice
nest. You’ll get a chance to choose
14. And where are you in all this?
Compete with yourself and win. You
will be above anybody if you win
against yourself
15. Meaning that…
Competing with yourself is using
every opportunity to increase your
personal value: shape-up, learn a
new skill (“steal” it from someone you
admire!), view yourself in the future
16. And how about the others?
As an adult, the moment you
compare to others to evaluate your
success or happiness, you turn into a
loser. There will always be someone
lower than you - and that’s not the
right way to feel good
17. Are they a danger?
Share. There’s enough room under
the sun. It may turn into sharing
back, or downstream good. It will at
least improve your self-esteem, if not
your life altogether
18. Even if they compete with you?
If sharing turns into competition,
learn from it and increase your own
value - that is what really matters
19. I’ll always be there for you!
Look at the stars, once in a while. We
came from them, we all will return to
them. We have always been together,
we are together and we will be
together forever
