I am writing to apply for a Water Distribution Operator position, or any position that would grant me
footing within your organization, and am fully confident that I can become a valued and indispensable
member of your team.
I am new to the water industry but in the past several months have been working diligently to acquire
the skills and certifications necessary to productively integrate into the field. I currently hold a T1
certification, and am registered to write my D1 and T2 respectively by mid-September and November of
this year.
Furthermore, I have competed coursework in Treatment Plant Operation as well as Distribution at
Sacramento State University, and am currently enrolled in their Treatment 2 offering, and plan to
complete the Small Water System Operation & Maintenance course this fall. I am a member of CA-NV
AWWA and routinely immerse myself in their news, publications and events.
I feel I possess the skills needed to immediately join the workforce as an effective member of your
company. My recent certifications and studies, coupled with University experience in urban planning,
AutoCAD, and GIS mapping systems gives me the educational footing to be successful in the field.
My current (and past) employment has embedded safety firmly into my work ethic, coupled with my
ability to operate material handling equipment and work within a team gives me the confidence that I
can not only fulfill the duties required of employment, but that I can offer far more than the base level
expected of a new member to your company.
