1. Jayda Lena Marks just moved into her new dream house. It was perfect in her mind. It was a
one story with a basement, and had two bedrooms, one bathroom, a big living room and a kitchen.
She was going to keep one of the bedrooms for herself, and the other one was going to be her office
for writing and publishing her novels.
She took the whole first day to unpack her belongings and get comfortable. When she was
finished, she went to make herself a dinner, hunting up whatever was available that she had saved
from her old apartment. She boiled water and put some pasta in it with seasonings. It was something
quick and simple, which was perfect, since she was starving from all the unpacking.
After she was done with her meal, she took a quick shower and got ready for bed. Nervous
in her new apartment, Jayda could not sleep for quite a while. As the clock drew closer to midnight,
she heard a noise in her living room. Jayda grabbed a bat from next to her bed, and cautiously
walked out of her room and into the living room. When she arrived, there she saw a little girl sitting
on her couch.
“W…w…what are you doing in my house?” Jayda stammered at the girl.
“This is my house,” replied the girl sweetly with a smile and an innocent look.
Confused Jayda looked at the girl.
“Where are your parents? What is your name?”
“I don’t have parents, and my name is Alice,” she replied.
“Ok, well, I’m calling the police,” Jayda said, as she backed out of the room slowly and went
to her bedroom to get her cell phone.
Jayda called the police, gave them a report and told them she would bring the girl to the
police station, but when she returned to the living room, the little girl was no longer there. Jayda
assumed the girl had gotten tired and went home. She checked the outside of her house door to
see, if the little one was there. She found nothing, so she turned around, went into her room and
went back to bed, slightly set off by the event that had just occurred.
In Jayda’s sleep, she felt like she was being suffocated. She couldn’t breathe. Gasping for air
and struggling with what was being held over her mouth, she tried to scream. Finding no sound
coming out of her mouth, she panicked and started squirming. Jayda opened her eyes to find she
was being suffocated by the little girl.
Alice looked at her sweetly and said: “I told you this was my house, Jayda, now you get to
sleep forever.”
And with that Jayda stopped breathing, and her eyes drifted down as she drifted into
unconsciousness.
