3. What is MI Dr. Howard Gardner said
All human beings have
multiple intelligences.
All human beings possess
all nine intelligences in
varying amounts.
These intelligences are
located in different areas of
the brain and can either
work independently or
together.
These multiple intelligences
can be nurtured and
strengthened, OR ignored
and weakened.
4. Multiple Intelligence in Action
What does it mean to us, preschool teachers?
For us preschool teachers at early stages giving exposure to all Intelligences AND
Creating as much connection as possible between left and right brain to strengthen
all Intelligence is vital
Can we enhance MI in our children?
Different learning centre in the classroom provides the opportunity to the child to
approach learning through one of the prominent ability level as well as the
opportunity to practice using other ability levels .Thus allowing the strengthening of
all intelligences which is very important for early year and developing a whole child
How can we do that?
Help children explore using all their senses and to experience all ways of learning.
Find out the right kind of play for developing these intelligence. Provide stimulus to
develop and strengthen these intelligence. Also make your parent aware of what you
are doing in the classroom ,Make them aware of multiple intelligence approach and
how it can help them to understand their child’s potential and learning style
