3. The module is designed to increase laboratory professionals and other stakeholders’ awareness of, and
competence in, the application of evidence-based principles to quality improvement (QI) projects or studies.
Objectives:
At the conclusion of the session, the participant will be able to accomplish the following:
1. Apply evidence-based principles to the design of a quality improvement project
2. Implement the Population, Intervention, Comparator, and Outcome (PICO) approach to define quality gaps
and formulate answerable questions
3. Identify opportunities to participate in the Laboratory Medicine Best Practices (LMBP™) Initiative
