How water get polluted
 Water get polluted because of the major reason, increasing of
population.
 Because increasing of the population and their demands
causes increasing of industry and they thing for humans, and
the waste which is left they release in the water.
Introduction
Water pollution occurs when
harmful substances are
released into the water in
large quantities which cause
damage to people, wildlife, or
habitat or indirectly into
water bodies without proper
treatment to remove harmful
compounds.
There are some water pollutants ?
 Sewage
 Toxic Chemicals
 Slit etc….. Get mixed with water , the water get
polluted . The substances that pollute water are called
water pollutants.
First it was like
this
Then the time goes people through
garbage in water, and then it looks like
this.
Effect of water pollution
 -Water pollution is a major problem in the global
context. It has been suggested that it is the
leading worldwide cause of deaths and diseases,
and that it accounts for the deaths of more than
14,000 people daily.
 -An estimated 700 million Indians have no access
to a proper toilet,
 and 1,000 Indian children die of diarrhea
sickness every day.
 - Some 90% of China's cities suffer from some
degree of water pollution, and nearly 500 million
people lack access to safe drinking water.
 Water pollution affects plants and organisms
 living in the bodies of water and in almost all cases the
 effect is damaging either to individual species and also
to the biological communities

Major rivers of water pollution
 Ganga
 Brahmaputra
 Yamuna
How water can be made safe for
drinking ?
 You have already seen how water is filtered . This is a
physical method of removing impurities . A popular
house hold filter is a candle type filter .
 Many households use boiling as a method for obtaining
safe drinking water. Boiling kills the germs present in the
water.
 Chlorination is a commonly used chemical method for
purifying water. It is done by adding chlorine tablets or
bleaching powder to the water.
we must be cautious . We should not use more
chlorine tablets than specified.
