PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS
Student and teacher programs are led by Space Foundation’s award-winning educators who are all
former classroom master teachers.
« Audience with an Astronaut™
presentations provide students and the community with the opportunity
to learn first-hand what it takes to become a space explorer.
Programs are coordinated with former NASA astronaut and Space Foundation Special Advisor-Human
Spaceflight Dr. Leroy Chiao and may include other astronauts.
Presentations consist of an informational and inspirational talk followed by a QA period.
« What’s Happening in Space presentations, led by Space Foundation Education Specialists, are designed
to inform and inspire audiences about space and reinforce the importance of STEM (Science, Technology
Engineering and Math). Community presentations can also include media interviews with TV, radio and
newspaper.
« Hands-on STEM focused classroom activities for students are available for grades K-12.
« Space Across the Curriculum professional development workshops provide educators with lessons and
hands-on activities that meet education standards to integrate STEM into daily curriculum and tools that
are instantly transferrable to the classroom.
« Marketing and Sponsorship Assistance will help you solicit underwriting or sponsorship support to bring
a program to your community by providing easy-to-use email invitation, poster/flyer and agenda templates
to promote your program.
« Virtual Audience with an Astronaut™
allows audiences, teachers and students to interact with an astronaut,
conducted via Google Hangouts, Skype or FaceTime – anywhere in the world.
