We registered six foals representing the
stallions Belissimo M, Foundation,
Fuerst Romancier, Londonderry and
Wolkentanz II. From this very nice
group of foals we chose the filly by
Fuerst Romancier-EM Loreen DH,
owned by Meg Brinton, DVM.,
Ridgefield, Wash., as the Champion
foal of this inspection.
Thank you to Nancy and all the volun-
teers at this well organized site and to
Jessica Wisdom who handled most of
the horses.
SPIRIT EQUESTRIAN
SOMIS, CALIF.
Spirit Equestrian is a beautiful riding
and show facility nestled among the
avocado and lemon groves in the
Somis hills, owned by Marie and
Richard Knowles. This was the first
time AHS has been to this site and
everything was well organized by
Shannon DeBuiser with help from
manager Sarah Shechner and handler
Sean Cunningham.
Three Hanoverian mares were present-
ed and leading this group for the
Champion Mare sash was Daphne LK,
by Don Frederico-SPS Wonne/
Wolkentanz I, owned and bred by
Louise Koch, Westlake Village, Calif.
This nine-year-old dark bay mare had
a beautiful head and expression for a 9,
and scored 8’s for her well set up neck,
typiness and femininity, her walk and
overall impression and development
for a final score of 7.33. Samantha S, a
lovely grey mare by Sir Caletto-EM
Golden Gate, by Goldfasan, owned by
Wynn Morrow, Newbury Park, Calif.,
and bred by Silverhorne Sporthorses
was one point behind with 7.16. One
point behind her with a 7.0 was five-
year-old High Society RS, by Hofrat-
Welvet/Warkant, owned and bred by
Lisbeth Rothman, Los Angeles, Calif.
All these mares scored high enough to
be Elite Eligible and we hope at some
point this site will grow and offer the
MPT, although, it is worth a reminder
that it is possible to complete the per-
formance requirements through sport
in the disciplines of dressage, hunters,
jumpers and eventing.

HIGH POINT HANOVERIANS
CHESTERSON, MD.
After traveling all day and what felt like
half the night we finally arrived at our
destination hotel past midnight, put
our clocks forward three hours and
hoped to catch some zzzs before an
early start later that morning. High
Point Hanoverians has been hosting
AHS inspections for many years and
this inspection was ably organized by
Klaus Schengber and Larissa Barilar.
Four Hanoverian mares were present-
ed for studbook inspection and the
Champion of this group was a late
entry, Quintessa MF, by Quaterback-
EM Rising Star/Rotspon, bred by
Maryanna Hayman and now in the
ownership of Susan Graham White
and Deborah Bly. This impressive
three-year-old mare earned a score of
7.66 which included a 9 for her neck
and 8’s for head, frame, hind leg, typi-
ness and femininity, impulsion and
elasticity and overall impression and
development. Next was Roxanna R, a
four-year-old chestnut mare by
Rapture R-EM Walencia/Wolkentanz
II, owned and bred by Holly Atkins,
Md. Her highlights were 8’s for head,
neck, saddle position, type and femi-
ninity for a final score of 7.16
TheThoroughbredmareAheadofthebest
xx by Best of the Bests(IRE) xx-Blue
Consort xx/Bold Executive xx, was the
only mare in the MPT. This five-year-
old mare was raced eight times, winning
her first race, and was adopted through
the CANTER program by Elizabeth
Callahan, Md., who also rode her for
the MPT. She scored 7 for her jump-
ing, 6.66 for gaits and 8 for rideability
for a commendable total of 7.22.
Two very good non-Hanoverian mares
were presented. The four-year-old
dark bay Oldenburg mare, Keepsake
(Fidertanz-Kindred Spirit/Schampus),
owned by Laureen Megan and bred by
Karen Walters was Champion and
accepted into our Main Studbook with
a score 7.66 which included an overall
8 for conformation as well as type and
femininity, impulsion and elasticity,
walk, and overall impression and
development. The second mare,
Aheadofthebest xx, was only one point
behind her with 7.5. She also scored an
overall 8 for conformation and also 8’s
for type and femininity and overall
impression and development. This was
more than enough for acceptance into
the AHS Studbook, but with her very
good MPT score, she was upgraded
into the Main Studbook.
Nine foals were presented representing
the stallions Bugatti Hilltop, De Niro,
Escudo II (2), Furst Impression (2),
Rubignon and Sinatra Song (2).
Champion Filly was Sabella (Sinatra
Song-Rubintanz/Rosenthal) owned
and bred by High Point Hanoverians.
She showed us the best movement of
the day and is a refined, modern type.
The Champion Colt on this day was
the very well put together Exclusive Kis
(EscudoII-LittleBlackxx/Rockamundo
xx) owned and bred by Wendy Costello,
Stevensville, Md. This colt is a product
of the AHS Jumper Breeding Program.
Thank you to Natalie DeBerardinis for
all the driving she did for us on this
portion of the tour. It is such a treat
not to have to rent a car and try to
figure out where we are going and how
long it will take to get there. We
understand and appreciate the time it
takes for a volunteer to make all those
airport and hotel runs!
HIGH POINT HANOVERIANS – Sabella (Sinatra Song-Rubintanz/Rosenthal) was the Top Filly of the day by
merit of her refined type and excellent movement. She is owned and bred by High Point Hanoverians.
