As I haveprogressed through AS level, I have learnt about a range of
different technologies and how to work them. While doing our preliminary we
learnt what we had to do when filming the main thing but we didn't learn how
to develop it through editing and adding sound. Our main outcome now
consists of higher level technologies to allow for a more professional look.

In or preliminarywe used the Nikon D1300 that we used in our final product
with a tripod. I don't have my own camera therefore I don't own my own
tripod, it was the other members of my group who knew how to work the
camera, but seeing as the camera belonged to Alex and Alex was one of the
main actors in both the preliminary and the full product, another member of
the group had to learn how to work his camera. We all experimented with the
camera and I especially learnt how to get the best picture and angle to
create a professional video. We learnt the basics of filming through the
preliminary task but the main outcome allowed us to experience filming
outside in different settings.

We had tofilm in several different settings including, a garage, a bus stop at night
and a work area. To do this we found that it wasn't as easy as just going to the place
and film; we had to ask for permission first. Their are other people that go to the
public places such as the bus stop and the work area therefore we had to make sure
that it was okay if we could film near them so that it was safe and permitted.
Luckily, the bus stop that we filmed at was empty and so we didn't have anyone to
ask permission to film there for however the filming in Coped Hall, an area where
many businesses are stationed, had to be permitted before we could use one of
their buildings to film Poppy walking out. We chose to ask a charity that is based
there is we could use there building for our media product and they were happy to
help as long as we didn't get and of their logos in the picture. So from this we learnt
that it is not as easy to get a place to film as what we thought it was.

However the mainthing that we learnt from the making of this product is how to
use different software's that we had never come in contact with before. Knowing
how to work technologies isn't a strong point for me, but knowing that this is my
A-level coursework made me focus on what to do in these software's and
therefore made me learn a lot more about modern technologies altogether. I've
never had a YouTube account, I'd never created a blog and I'd never edited a
film but in the process of making our final product, I've had to do all of these
things.
