9. Romans
15:14-16
14 And I myself also am persuaded of you, my
brethren, that ye also are full of goodness, filled with
all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.
15 Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more
boldly unto you in some sort, as putting you in mind,
because of the grace that is given to me of God,
16 That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the
Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the
offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being
sanctified by the Holy Ghost.
11. Romans
15:17-19
17 I have therefore whereof I may glory through
Jesus Christ in those things which pertain to God.
18 For I will not dare to speak of any of those
things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to
make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed,
19 Through mighty signs and wonders, by the
power of the Spirit of God; so that from
Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have
fully preached the gospel of Christ.
12. Explore how we boast
in Jesus V 17-19
† Glory in the things that pertain to God
† He would only talk about the things God did
through him in bringing the Gentiles to obey
God’s word
† Paul fully proclaimed the Gospel across the
region planting churches in significant
locations
13. Romans
15: 20 -21
20 Yea, so have I strived to preach
the gospel, not where Christ was
named, lest I should build upon
another man's foundation:
21 But as it is written, To whom
he was not spoken of, they shall
see: and they that have not heard
shall understand.
14. Passion to seek
the Lost
† Paul aspired to preach the gospel in places
where it had not been heard
† He was a true Evangelist not wanting to
build on someone else's work
† His strategy supported but Isaiah 52:15
“For what they were not told, they will see,
and what they have not heard, they will
understand.”
15. Whose job is it to present the
Gospel?
When was the last time you
did it?
16. Romans
15: 30 - 33
30 Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord
Jesus Christ's sake, and for the love of the Spirit,
that ye strive together with me in your prayers to
God for me;
31 That I may be delivered from them that do not
believe in Judaea; and that my service which I
have for Jerusalem may be accepted of the saints;
32 That I may come unto you with joy by the will
of God, and may with you be refreshed.
33 Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.
17. Believers should
work as a team
† Paul sought the prayers of others to
accomplish the mission God had given
him. That mission included:
† That he may be delivered from the Jews in
Jerusalem
† That the money that he has for the poor
would be accepted
† That he makes it to Rome filled with God’s
joy
18. What ways can you strive
with others to advance the
Kingdom
19. List some specific
actions you can
take to join God
in His work of
spreading the
Gospel?
What commitment
are you willing to
make?
Editor's Notes
One important point to remember here is that Paul has never been to Rome. He writes this letter which is the longest single letter in the New Testament from Corinth
Mature Christians- They understand the difference between right and wrong and they choose to do the right thing which demonstrates be filled with goodness, they are apt to learn and teach and the hold fast to the things they are taught seeking the application of the teaching over their lives, maintain close personal relationships with other disciples building others up not tearing them down but encouraging them in righteousness
Paul was fulfilling his purpose and he calls it out to the Roman church in this section of the letter. Im a servant of Jesus Christ sent to Minister the Gospel message that he could offer the save sanctified lives of the Gentiles back to God.

Jeremiah 9:24But let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD, who exercises loving devotion, justice and righteousness on the earth--for I delight in these things," declares the LORD. Paul quoted this in 1Cor 1:31
Proverbs 27:2 Let someone else praise you, not your own mouth–a stranger, not your own lips.
Paul highlights 3 ways God accomplished his purpose through Paul 1In Word, 2 Deed, and 3 Miraculous signs and wonders God’s Holy Spirit
Understand that Paul demonstrated incredible humility if anyone had a right to brag about something Paul could have but regardless his achievements He realized that Christ alone accomplished this work though him.
Paul was passionate about reaching people with the gospel message. His particular focus was on people who had never heard it.
Here Paul Partners with the other believers in Rome soliciting their prayers
1 Protection from the Jews in Judea who considered him a traitor to their faith. They had already tried to kill him several times before Acts 21: 30 and Acts 23:
2 that the financial gifts from Gentile believers for poor Christians in Judea would be accepted. In the same manner that he wanted the Gentiles to be accepted by God he wanted unity among Jewish and Gentile believers and accepting the money would go a long in showing unity
3 Lastly Paul reiterated his statement from the beginning of the book on his desire to visit with the saints in Rome
