2. • What planning have you done this week? I tried to be ahead with my work by planning for the Final Major Project
last week, I was able to write my plot and start the script on Pages (Pages the app on my iPad), when I got to college
I continued my pre-planning of finishing the script and making lists of the actors and props I required. I looked
through the Final Major Project list and changed the work I did on pages to fit it, I then put it on my custom power
point which I made for this project by taking pictures and sending it to myself, I made other slides for the other
points of the planning list and eventually did those as well. I spent most of my time trying to organise the equipment
I needed and see when the actors were available, it took up most of the first day of planning and it was all hard to do,
it even ate into the second day of planning which made me have to cut out pieces of free time to get the rest of the
work done.
• What have you learned that will help you in your project? I have learned two very important things in my planning
which were both what I struggled with in the beginning they are: time management with booking equipment, actors
and booking sets and constantly having to change your planning thanks to circumstances. Time management was
extremely frustrating, I had to constantly go around and ask if the actors were available and constantly tell them
added on detail, I had to ask teachers to help with booking sets and equipment I needed but all of this taught me the
importance of time management. My pre-planning had to be constantly changed, I had to change the plot so it
would fit my limited environment, I had to add in props I needed that I didn’t think of before and I had to cut out
actors who couldn’t be in my Final Major Project but I did learn that my planning has to be constantly changed. I
decided to change the scope of my project to a much smaller cast, filmed at home and using an iPad.
• What else do you need to plan next week? I need to plan exactly what scenes I need to shoot and where would be
best to film them, I may have made a production schedule but I will have to think of what obstacles might be in the
way of my production. I need to have last minute planning on my actors, some maybe where others might not be
available and who knows what interruptions they or me may have to deal with when the four weeks Final Major
Project Production starts. For this reason, I have decided on a smaller scale project with fewer actors.
• If you could make one improvement to the planning, what would it be and why? The one improvement to the
planning I’d make would be my time management. It caused me no end of trouble because I was unprepared in this
planning week, I did it on Pages which overcomplicated matters and I had to do more stuff o this list than I thought
which caused me to get extremely frustrated.
