Middle Island Country Club has 27 holes spread across three 9-hole courses - Dogwood, Spruce, and Oak. The author played Dogwood and Spruce the first round, scoring well on courses that were in good shape despite hot and dry conditions. Dogwood was well-suited to the author's skill level. Oak was the most difficult, with a difficult stretch of holes from 4-7 and a challenging 9th fairway sloping from left to right. While not a bad course overall, the author would prefer to play others and found Middle Island Country Club lacking in memorable qualities.
