- Hybrid: Drive to daycare w/bike on bike rack - bike from there
- Educate yourself about safer routes in neighborhood
- Emergency Ride Home Program – get folks to kids quickly
- Two Parent Household: option to alternate
- Bring different family bikes for folks to try
Barrier: FEAR!
- Saturday Ride
- Myth-Busting, i.e. safe biking two blocks north
- Match people who are scared w/ people who have answers
- Brown Bag/ Education know how
- Bike Buddy Program: Someone will ride with you. Map w/ push pins
- Acknowledge that first commute is the hardest: Reward that first trip
- Fear is real. Real obstacles, but overcomeable
- Have a bicycle “patriarch“ – someone everyone knows will help them

- Split up the room at event by where people live to match them up
Bike Theft
- Willamette offers free locks – if a bike isn’t locked properly – get a note to come in to
get your bike registered & get a free lock
- Lock loaners at company
- Bike Lockers
- Culture to be ok to bring bike in to workspace/cubicle
