2. Qualifying periods
The latest result for each unit is shown overleaf. If a higher mark was achieved at an earlier sitting, this result is also shown and
indicated in the ‘High mark’ column. A Pass must be obtained in all three units within a five year period in order to achieve this qualification .
Special consideration
If you or your accredited course provider has submitted a request for special consideration and this has been acknowledged by NEBOSH,

If you have achieved a pass in one or more units
Please accept our congratulations on your achievement. Unit certificate(s) will be issued for each successful unit declared on this unit result
notification letter. If you have passed all of the required units for this qualification your qualification parchment will also be printed and
despatched with your unit certificate(s).
All unit certificates and the qualification parchment are issued and despatched directly to your course provider within 40 working days of the
original result notification date (please refer to your examination entry confirmation document).

Your name will appear on your unit certificate(s) and qualification parchment as shown overleaf. Names exceeding 60 characters may appear
over two or more lines. Your full legal name must be used for this documentation.
If your name is shown incorrectly you must advise NEBOSH, in writing, within 10 working days of this letter. Supporting photographic
identification will be required in order for NEBOSH to make any amendments.

How your overall grade is calculated
Once you have achieved a ‘Pass’ in all units the aggregate mark of the three units is used to determine the qualification grade , according to the
following criteria (grading criteria does not apply to individual units):
Distinction 210 marks or more Credit 180 - 209 marks Pass 150 - 179 marks
If you would like to improve your grade
If you have successfully completed all three units for this qualification and wish to re-sit a successful unit for the purpose of improving a grade
you must inform NEBOSH, no later than 20 working days from the date of this letter. Notification can be accepted by e-mail or post, please refer
to our contact details below.
If you have received a refer result for one or more unit(s)
If you have received a refer result you have not achieved the pass standard of 45% for each question paper assessment and/or 60% for the
practical assessment. To allow you to complete your overall qualification you will need to make arrangements to re -sit the assessment(s) that
you have been referred in. Re-sits can be arranged by contacting your accredited NEBOSH course provider to discuss the next available
assessment date and/or submission date.
If your result does not meet with your reasonable expectations
NEBOSH does support the rights of students and/or accredited NEBOSH course providers to request a clerical check or re-mark of an
assessment. To request this service please refer to our ‘Enquiries about Results (EARs) policy and procedure’, available to download from the
‘About NEBOSH’ section of our website www.nebosh.org.uk.
All requests must be received, with full payment, within 20 working days of the results notification date (please refer to your examination entry
confirmation). Requests received after this date cannot be processed.
Please note: This service does not provide feedback on performance and by requesting this service there is no guarantee that a mark will be
adjusted upwards after a re-mark. It is also important to note that a mark (and grade) may also be adjusted downwards following an EAR.
NEBOSH does recommend that you discuss your results with your tutor prior to submitting an enquiry about result.
